Terceira Island Full Day incl. Algar do Carvao & Gruta do Natal

This activity is the perfect way to get to know Terceira island with the help of a local. We will show you the best viewpoints and tell you all about the history and nature of our island.

This tour includes tickets to both caves: Algar do Carvão and Gruta do Natal.

In the winter time, the caves are closed on Mondays, Sundays and Thursdays, so visiting these attractions is not possible.

Itinerary

Stop At: Alto da Memoria, Rua do Pisao Jardim Duque da Terceira, Angra do Heroismo, Terceira 9700-152 Portugal

We visit a monument dedicated to one of our former kings D. Pedro IV, with a great view over the city.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Miradouro da Serretinha Feteira, EN1-2A, 9700, Portugal

Visit to the parish of Feteira where we can take a look at Ilhéu das Cabras, an underwater volcano very important for several protected seabirds.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Serra do Cume Viewpoint, Serra do Cume, Praia da Vitoria, Terceira Portugal

We will drive to the top of Serra do Cume, one of the last ridges of vulcão dos cinco picos, also the biggest caldeira of the Azores

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Vitoria Beach, Praia da Vitoria, Terceira 9760-211 Portugal

We will drive to Praia da Vitória, the secondary city of our island, where we will go to the top of Serra do Santiago to overlook the city and its bay

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Ponta dos Biscoitos, Biscoitos, Terceira Portugal

We will drive to Biscoitos, a village located on the north coast, where to this day we still plant vineyards. Here, we will also visit the local natural swimming pools

Stop At: Algar do Carvao, Estrada Algar Do Carvao Center of Island, Porto Judeu, Terceira Portugal

Here we will visit the structure of an empty volcano, where we can go on its inside and explore the empty space, now filled with various types of rocks and stalactites

Stop At: Gruta do Natal, Altares, 9700-000 Angra do Heroísmo, Portugal

This stop is optional, if you are interested in visiting lava tubes, and walking under the ground, it is a very exciting experience!

Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Furnas do Enxofre, Porto Judeu, Terceira Portugal

A fumarolic field where we can take a short walk to apreciate the volcanic origin of the island.

Duration: 20 minutes
