Stop At: Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre, Liscannor Ireland

Cllifs of Moher and heritage site. With an arrival time of approximately 10.45am there is between 1.45 minutes to 2 hours alocated to this attraction. Your ticket for admittance offers the opportunity to rest and eat in a choice of cafes perched high over the Atlantic Ocean. There is the very informative museum of natural history if you wish to spend some time in doors. Of course there is the spectacular coastal walk along the safe paths that follow the the Cliffs of Moher for up to 8 kms. Along the way enjoy this location as hotspot for a wide range of flora and fauna. As many as 20 different species of birds to be seen. The Puffins, while Puffin populations are dwindling throughout Europe the numbers at the Cliff's are increasing. The Clifs of Moher are also home to the Guillemot, Razorbill, Fulmar, Kittiwake, Chough and Peregrine. Look out over the sea to the Aran Islands and regularly dolphins can be observed. Ennis town has long been renowned as a centre of excellence for shopping. There are also old traditional bars to enjoy a light lunch while enjoying some traditional Irish music. Bunratty Castle 1415ad the most complete and authentic medieval castle in Ireland. Originally a Viking trading site dated 970ad. All medieval features, tower houses, raised entrance door with draw bridge over river, murdering hole over main doors, loop holes for bow and arrow, basement prison with ceilings too low to be able to stand, secret trap doors to drop unwanted visitors through impaled on spikes.
1646 as part of the Irish Confederate Wars in the "Wars of the Three Kingdoms" of most interest to American visitors is the siege of Bunratty Castle. The English forces commanded by Sir William Penn held the castle but alas was defeated. His life spared by the Irish forces his son was born later in America went on to found Pennsylvania.
Folk Park set on 26 acres. Rural farmhouses, village shops, streets, recreated & furnished as they appeared at that time according to their social standing. The poorest one room cottage to Bunratty House a fine example of a Georgian residence built 1804
