You can enjoy the beautiful garden and panorama views for East to West.
The memorial to Michael Joseph Savage, New Zealand's first Labour prime minister (1935-1940) overlooks the Waitemata Harbour.

Stop At: North Head Historic Reserve, Takarunga Rd. Devonport, Auckland Central, Auckland New Zealand
The location of Maungauika at the entrance to the Waitematā Harbour made it an important coastal defense. It was fears of a Russian invasion in the 1880s that led to the construction of a fort and the three disappearing gun batteries dotted along the maunga (mountain).

Mount Eden is the highest volcano among Auckland's 52 volcanos. It is 196m tall.

A windswept rugged coastline stretching 60km north showcases Muriwai's spectacular black sand surf beaches. At its southern end, Otakamiro Point is the site of one of our few mainland gannet (takapu) breeding colonies.
This regional park boasts several trails that meander through native bush and stunning views from lookouts over the beach and gannet colony (seasonal).
There are barbeques, picnic tables, tennis courts, a playground and a small skate park available.
