Cartagena: Baru Beach Club Day or Island Hopping (Don't Overpay)

Baru Beach Club Day Tour:

Budget-friendly, flexible option for travelers comfortable with unpaved roads and interacting a lot with local vendors. Meeting near the Historic Center, we'll take a 1 hour bus ride to Baru. Upon arrival, you'll have access to a beach club in Playa Blanca for swimming and lounging. Consumption is required for parasols & beach beds. Lunch and beverages not included. Bus journey time is subject to traffic variations. Return to Cartagena around 5 PM.

5-Stop Island Hopping Excursion:

This tour is fast paced and entirely on speedboat. Boat ride is bumpy & you can get wet. Meeting near the Historic Center, we'll take a 45 min boat ride to the islands. You'll snorkel at a coral reef in Laguna and at Pablo Escobar's sunken plane. Snorkeling gear is included. Then, enjoy a Caribbean lunch at Playa Libre in Rosario Island. The tour continues to Cholon Island & Baru Island, before returning to Cartagena around 4 PM.

For those booking the island hopping option, it's important to note that not every stop is an island; there are only three accessible islands for public visits: Rosario, Cholon, & Baru. Other listings may promote snorkeling activities (Coral Reef & Escobar's Plane) as island visits, but they are actually water-based activities.

Note that while all are welcome to join, we particularly recommend this excursion to those who are adventurers and comfortable in party environments - especially since the atmosphere at Cholon Island may not be for everyone. Cholon and Baru are touristy with lots of vendors that can be bothersome. Island businesses have markups, expect higher prices.
