We will leave the city of Mérida towards the east of Yucatán, 120 kilometers away we will find the legendary Mayan city of Chichén Itzá, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1988 and a Wonder of the World since 2007. This imposing city stood out as a cultural center and politician of the old Mayan civilization and was one of the largest settlements in the center-north of the Yucatan peninsula. In its time, it was the most powerful city in the region.
