From Tokyo: Kamakura & Enoshima - One Day Trip

Take a break from the fast-paced life of Tokyo and journey back to the ancient capital of Japan, Kamakura, which is home to the Samurai. Get a taste of the beautiful landscape, visit ancient shrines and stroll around Enoshima Island, all in a single tour!

Visiting the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Kamakura's most important shrine. Then, go down Komachi Street, a popular shopping street where you can enjoy local seafood, snacks, and souvenirs. 

Next up is one of the most iconic places in Kamakura, the Kotoku Temple with its huge bronze statue of Buddha.  Moving on from Hase Temple, go to the Kotoku Temple, home to the famous eleven-headed statue of Kannon the Goddess of Mercy.

The last step of the tour is Enoshima, a small island located west of Kamakura.

Itinerary

Stop At: Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, 2-1-31 Yukinoshita, Kamakura 248-0005 Kanagawa Prefecture

Get off the bus and start the tour by visiting the Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, Kamakura's most important shrine. Then, go down Komachi Street, a popular shopping street where you can enjoy local seafood, snacks, and souvenirs. 

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Daibutsukiritoshi, Fueda,Tokiwa, Kamakura Kanagawa Prefecture

Observe Kamakura's impressive Great Buddha statue with a height of more than 11 meters!

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Hase-dera Temple, 3-11-2 Hase, Kamakura 248-0016 Kanagawa Prefecture

Next up is a visit of the Hase Temple, home to the famous eleven-headed statue of Kannon the Goddess of Mercy, which is considered one of the biggest wooden statues in Japan.

Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Enoshima Island, Enoshima, Fujisawa 251-0036 Kanagawa Prefecture

The last step of the tour is Enoshima, a small island located west of Kamakura. Access it by riding the Eno-den train, an iconic single track train. On clear days you can enjoy stunning views of Mt. Fuji.
