From April 1st to about May 10th (depends on the snow conditions of the year), the Eagle's Nest direct access road is closed, alternatively we offer to visit the Rossfeld summit instead. From this vantage point, soak in panoramic views of the stunning Austrian and Bavarian Alps and the nearby Eagle's Nest. Feel free to choose this option also when Eagle's Nest is opened if you prefer a much less crowded, more local site than the Eagle's Nest.

The Berghof, located at 3000 ft elevation, was Hitler’s former mountain residence at the Obersalzberg. The Hotel zum Tuerken was used by the Nazis and is very close to Hitler's Berghof. Today the Hotel zum Tuerken is private.

From the Obersalzberg you will access the Eagle's Nest with special busses and elevator. You will have 2 hours at the Eagle's Nest. Castle of Werfen is one of the most magnificent mountain fortifications in the Alps and was also used in the “Where Eagle’s Dare” movie with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. It was the castle of Werfen which was used as Eagle’s Nest, not the original location at the Bavarian Alps. Enjoy some good Austrian lunch right at the castle before you will marvel at the bird-of-prey show conducted by historic State Falconers, mainly featuring native free-flying raptors!
