Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Kokarsteinen, Fv650 140, 6250 Stordal, Norway

34 Kokarsteinen used to be a stop and restplace in the old days. Travelers could make some food, sleep some hours before they continued their travel to Ålesund. Today, there is a cafeteria selling fresh baked cakes, soft-ice cream, coffee and toilets for paying customers are available. The view from Kokarsteinen is fantastic. To the left we see towards Geiranger and to right against Ålesund. On the other side of the fjord, up in the mountains, we can see 3 mountain farms. The red one to the left is the famous Yste Skotet with buildings from the middle of 1800. No road up there. Have to walk. Good excercise I guess.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Liabygda Ringsetskiftet, Liabygda, Norway

30 ViewPoint by the sea On our way to ViewPoint by the sea, we pass the old Rose Church in Stordal. Built in year 1789. Another fantastic ViewPoint close to Liabygda. Down to the left, you can see a salmon fishfarm, to the right, we see the town Stranda where the Grandiosa pizza-factory is located. Across the fjord, we see the fjord going to Geiranger and Hellesylt. Up on the mountain to the left, you can see the mountain farm Skrednakken. This is the farm our Norwegian Queen Sonja visited some years ago. Don't forget to take some nice photos.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Holsbrua, Ålesund, Norway

23 Waterfall by the bridge, Holsbrua If you like water, this the right place to be. We park the bus across the bridge, and you have to walk back over the bridge to look down on the left side. There you will see a little white house that is producing electricity. On the left side of this house, you will se a salmon ladder where the salmon can jump upwards the strong river. Amazing ! Maybe you will see a salmon or two swimming in the river - Be careful, don't fall in the water !

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Gudbrandsjuvet, Route 63 Rv 63, Valldal 6210 Norway

20 Gudbrandsjuvet is a river gorge in the river Valldøla. The watery river flows between gorges and cracks in the mountain and meets from rather unexpected angles, before it flows under the bridge and plunges further down the valley. The gully is partly formed by several large potholes. The water feature is a tourist attraction, and platforms and bridges have been built in a mixture of glass and rust-corroded iron in both walls and floors. Here is a cafeteria and also free toilets available. You must try their Salmon baguette. So good !

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Krikebrua, 6210 Valldal, Norway

18 The old bridge by Krikebrua Mother Nature ! I think this is one of the most fantastic stop on our trip. We stop on a small place with a free toilet and some benches for lunch. Then we hike together about 3 to 4 minutes on the other side of the road. There we will see an old bridge (built in 1891) and a gorgeous waterfall and river above. The bridge is built of rocks only. No concrete or steel inside the construction. Mini Lunch with Norwegian lefse, coconut bun and hot coffee/tea will be served here. You may bring your Mini Lunch in the bus. Please use the bins in the bus for your garbage.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Trollstigen, Åndalsnes, 6300 Norway

14 Trollstigen ViewPoints is the main stop on our trip. There are 2 ViewPoints available, one is about 5 Minutes of walking, and the best one is about 10 Minutes of walking from the bus. The path to these viewpoints is laid in concrete and has solid safety fences around it. A souvenir shop and free toilets are also available in Trollstigen. There is also a cefeteria selling sandwiches, coffee and soft-ice cream. Also hot meals are available here.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Trollstigen foothill viewpoint, Andalsnes 6300 Norway

13 Down from Trollstigen You will see 11 hairpin curves on our way down from Trollstigen. We will also cross Stigfoss bridge on our way. All curves are named after people who built the road. Trollstigen was opened for traffic in 1936. This is one of the best stops (again), and we stop under the Trollstigen looking upwards the mountains and waterfalls. Just stunning in my opinion !! You may also see the best ViewPoint on the top hanging out from the mountain. Remember, this is The Land Of The Trolls ! Please, be back in the bus on time !

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Isterdalen, Rauma, Norway

12 Trollstigen Gjestegård Here you will see many famous Trolls, buy a soft-ice cream or just use the free bathrooms. Edmund Meyer (on the picture) is the owner of this wonderful place. How many trolls in total can you see here at Trollstigen Gjestegård - The boss of the Trollsl is located on the other side of the road (on the top of the rock there). This is the last stop, before we return back to Ålesund again.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Aksla Mountain, Alesund 6002 Norway

82 Aksla ViewPoint Fjellstua in Ålesund The dessert of the trip. This ViewPoint on the top of the mountain Aksla in Ålesund, is very famous. And the view is gorgeos. Maybe you can see your cruiseship or your hotel - Remember to tak a selfie or two on Fjellstua. Finally, we want to thank you for going with LocalTrips AS and hope you had a nice time today.
And again Thank you. We hope to see you again soon.
