Cataplana for All: From kitchen to the table
The word cataplana refers not only to the utensil but also to the dishes that are prepared in it.
The characteristics of this pan allow a wide range of dishes to be created that are a delight for all the senses and are good for one’s heart, as the cataplana enables little fat to be used in recipes.
Throughout this experience, participants will have the opportunity to discover all the potential of the most iconic utensil in Algarve gastronomy, and will learn to make a cataplana with
fish and shellfish.
One of the best ways to understand a place is by tasting its cuisine – and the Algarve is no different.
In Tertúlia Algarvia's Culinary Classes we take this a step further by learning how to prepare the most iconic regional dish: the tasty - cataplana.
Head to the kitchen for a fun and authentic cooking class and by the time it’s over, you’ll have created a delectable dish to enjoy for lunch or dinner!
This activity starts at 11.30 or 6:30 pm at Tertúlia Algarvia´s Restaurant and Culinary School with a complete menu that includes starters, drinks, the cataplanas made in cooking class and dessert.Sample Menu
