Akkerman Fortress and Cheese Dairy Tour in Ukraine
During this private tour, you’ll see a medieval fortress, explore cheese dairy and visit a winery on the same day. You’ll make your way to Akkerman Fortress and explore the main buildings as you hear about how they survived many battles during Moldovan, Ottoman and Russian rule. You can also savour scenic views of the river estuary from here. After this we will move to Shabo village, where you will try delicious local cheese and taste a glass of wonderful local wine.

Travel back in time and visit one of the most ancient cities of Ukraine, Bilhorod-Dnistrovsky, where you will discover an outstanding example of fortification architecture – Akkerman Fortress, built in XIII-XV centuries. The total area of the fortification occupies 9 hectares and has the shape of an irregular polygon. Initially, the fortress consisted of three spacious courtyards, which had their own purposes and individual defensive systems. The fortress really impresses with its power and size. The length of the defensive walls is about 2.5 km, the height of the walls and supports is from 5-15 m, and the thickness varies from 1.5 to 5 m. Despite of being attacked many times in the past, the Akkerman Fortress has preserved in good conditions until today.
