The ride was bumpy but the guide, service and locations were charming. I enjoyed the authentic food and mingling with the locals at the market best. Highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our experience and thought the services from the tour guides were professional and courteous. It was a nice half day experience so we weren't too exhausted afterwards. Lake Chapala is really a pretty area and the guide showed us a couple other places along the way mentioning history or famous people. It was a pleasurable day and only 3 of us on the tour.

Chapala is such a cute lovely town. I can easily spend a night or two there. Good seafoods and art galleries all around town. Our tour guide Orlando was friendly and courteous. I recommend this tour.

This tour was awesome. My tour guide, Ronnie, was excellent. He picked me up in a sedan at my hotel, then we drove and picked up another couple of people. That was the entire tour-group! The Ajijic/Chapala area is gorgeous, and a welcome respite from the heat and frantic city-life of Guadalajara. Ajijic was charming and lovely, but I think the highlight of the day was the delicious and relaxing lunch out on Scorpion Island: so awesome to just sit there, taking in the wonderful view, great food, and gentle breeze...

This was one of my favorites during my visit to Guadalajara. I would recommend you spend a few days there and not just a tour.

We had the pleasure of having Ronnie as our tour guide. His facility with English was excellent as was his knowledge of Lake Chapala, Aijic and the local area. Ronnie is a historian and story teller that makes the tour extremely fascinating and has sent me home to read more of the indigenous people's tales.

Visiting Chapala and taking in the views of the lake and town was great. Prior to getting to Chapala, we visited the small town of Ajijic - you get the vibe of the small town however, to my surprise this town houses a lot retired people from the US and Canada.
Walking though the main plaza, visiting the churches and walking the narrow streets down to the lake was very nice - not to mention the shops and galleries while taking the stroll.
Another highlight of the visit was that before arriving to Ajijic, we made a stop to visit the Ranch of Vicente Fernandez, we spent 30-40 minutes going to the ranch and seeing how the horses are trained and taking in the views of the property. We were not lucky to be greeted by Vicente himself, but it was a stop that was worthwhile.
Amigo tours was our tour guide and operator. Edgar gave a 5-star treatment, so glad he took care of us.
      Highly recommend tour.

This was a wonderful tour. We were fortunate to have Ronny as our tour guide. He is knowledgeable, engaging, friendly and lots of fun. The tour itself included time on Scorpio island, complete with a wonderful grilled fresh fish lunch. Each town offered its own unique history and charm. This tour was an absolute 10 for us.

We were the only ones on this tour, so had undivided attention of Ronnie, an excellent guide. He gave us lots of information about everything we saw, and more. We had time in the town of Ajijic, then the boat ride to Scorpion Island, and a great meal there.
We were taken to a commercial stop - a Candy Shop in Ajijic, where we felt obligated to purchase some of the ladys candy, Not saying it wasnt good stuff though. And interesting too.

Although the tour itself was recommended, the guide/driver spent too much time on his cell phone while driving. I'm a person who's convinced that cell phone usage while driving increases the risk of accidents. No accidents occurred during my tour, but I would have preferred if Viator had a policy that guides who also serve as drivers should not use their cell phones while driving.

THE DRIVER WAS NICE, BUT I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS ON A TOUR, BUT THAT WE JUST HAD SOMEONE DRIVE US TO CHAPALA AND WATCH OVER US - THE BOAT TRIP TO THE ISLAND WAS O.K./NOT MUCH TO SEE WHEN YOU GET THERE, BUT I ALSO THOUGHT THIS WAS INCLUDED IN THE FEE - WE HAD TO PAY EXTRA FOR THIS BOAT TRIP - AND... NEVER WAS TAKEN TO AJIJIC!! I THOUGHT THE FEE OF 50/PER PERSON WAS GREAT WHEN I READ WHAT I THOUGHT WAS INCLUDED, BUT AFTER THE TRIP AND SPENDING 100./FOR 2 - WE COULD HAVE TAKEN A TAXI FOR WHAT WE RECEIVED - DID NOT FEEL LIKE A TOUR AT ALL!!

Just okay. Not one of the best tours we have done. Lake Chapala is really low and there are smells. The island that you visit is very expensive.

Lake was very dirty there was debris link plastic bottles floating everywhere and the water just look horrible.
All we could think about is what disease could we catch if any of the water hit us or if the boat tipped over.
Also, the we got stuck in the 1st 10 minutes out due to fishing line or some sort of net got caught in the motors propeller. The boat owner did not have any tools to fit it so he did it by hand which took about 15 minutes. After he got it loose we asked to be returned immediately. The travel time from where we were staying was too long for this tour. Our Travel Guide Ricardo was great, he did take us for a walk and drive showing us other parts.
