Our tour will start in the main square of the Getsemaní neighborhood, this is the epicenter of innovation in Cartagena, bars and restaurants open weekly, each one looking for the best drinks and cocktails. The atmosphere of the neighborhood, which still retains many locals gives it the perfect bohemian atmosphere to create.

This restaurant based on the plains of the region is a hidden gem of the city, its owner Cristian Sepulveda, has relied on rescuing all the tradition of his family to create this cozy space where every bite and every detail is reminiscent of the food of grandmothers. With only 7 tables this place has become a place of worship in the city. Here we will taste the mote de queso, a signature dish of the Colombian Caribbean food, this soup is a combination of yam, cheese and some other secret is what a Cartagena local would describe what the home tastes like, it is also accompanied by the traditional rice with white coconut, because as we say locally: food without rice is not food.

This restaurant is the product of a great dream, its creator is Claudia Ealo and her son Vicente Ledesma and they have given life to a place that condenses 30 years of studying and teaching Colombian cuisine. Its name derives from a little known fruit in the Andean area, so it represents exactly what they want to do and that is to show the richness of Colombian gastronomy. Claudia has been a cook and traditional teacher in different institutions for more than 30 years and this restaurant is the fulfilled dream of a woman who has struggled to create a life through her passion.
If in the previous stop we ate a dish of the day to day now we will try one of the special occasions and it is the posta Cartagenera, this dish that is known among the cartageneros as posta negra, is traditional for Christmas, New Year or any occasion that merit the 2 hours of preparation and 4 hours of cooking that takes this meat.

Here we will finish our tour with a cocada, because as we mentioned at the beginning, we Cartagenerenos like sweets, and without the sweet treat at the end it feels like we lacked something.
