You have to love what you do otherwise it wouldn't be joyful for you and this goes double for the hospitality business.
My two tour guides - peyton (olympic national park) and clay (mt rainer) absolutely love what they do and it shows. Kudos for evergreen escapes for finding such talented people.
Different food options were exquisite and sourced locally - trail snacks, cookies, coffee and lunch- salad, pasta and chicken w/ local red wine was fulfilling and esp important on the second day after the hike.
Day one with peyton was fun - he has a collection of dad jokes, corny jokes and fun family friendly cringe worthy jokes, car games which made the car ride so fun. The tour itself was gorgeous, weather was cooperative - it only rained long enough for us to scramble to put on our rain jackets and it stopped.
The hike was mild, lunch delicious, waterfall breathtaking, forest hike tranquil. The group was amazing as well. All in all well worth the time and money though we could have spent longer on the hike - it doesn't take away anything.
Day 2 with Clay was comparatively strenuous as the group as a whole decided we wanted a longer and higher hike experience which ended up being a 2.5 hour, 5.5 mile hike with 1250 ft elevation. We had fun deciphering what mushrooms, birds and animals we saw and on the ride back - everyone got a quick shut eye

PREFACE: We have always had good luck with Viator, and looked into options while we were in Seattle /Tacoma for a family member's wedding. This tour, like so many Viator activities, provides pick ups from different hotels. The formal tour starts in Seattle, but we started in Port Angeles, just outside the Olympic National Park (ONP) entrance ... closer to our wedding hotel. As expected, The Wife and I had hotel door-to-door service, but much of the tour occurred before and after we joined.
OUR TOUR: Preston was a fabulous, knowledgeable guide who answered all our group's questions on flora, fauna, and history. The wet (In Seattle? Who knew??) weather caused some improvising to scheduled activities, but I think all of us were pleased with our experiences under the uber-damp circumstances. We entered and exited ONP a couple of times to visit different areas, culminating with a scenic, informative hike to a beautiful waterfall. (As it turned out, I should have stayed with my wife in the lodge in front of the fireplace. My 70 year old bones slowed down the other hikers and the almost 2 mile trek took much longer than it should have. But then I would have missed so much of Preston's knowledge sharing.) After post-hike refreshments in the lodge, we left ONP and were returned to our hotel. The rest of the group then had a ferry ride back to their Seattle accommodations! Bet that was fun.

This was a superb tour - both for what we saw and what we learned. Jenn is an excellent guide. We saw the mountain tops from Hurricane Ridge, river and waterfall at the Elwha River, and the forest at Crescent Lake. Small and cordial group. I liked what I saw of your company's ecological values. Reusable water bottles and no single-use paper or plastic. Fantastic lunch and good snacks. Grandmother/granddaughter visit.

Group of 9 went to Hurricane Ridge, a walk through the temperate rain forest, served us snack and a great lunch including wine. The tour guide Kris did an incredible job of narrating the tour and teaching us lots. She also was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Great trip all round. I highly recommend it.

The tour was a great intro to the NP even though it rained. We still got to get a good hike in and get some great scenery. Justin, our tour guide, was quite the treasure chest of knowledge. He could talk about anything we had questions about on the history and ecology of the NP and Washington state. Great conversationalist, easygoing and adaptable to weather changes and takes into account what the group was interested in. Highly recommended to have him as your tour guide before he leaves.

We knew we could navigate the Seattle area ourselves. However, the mountains and surrounding areas were challenging and we really wanted to get a taste of the beautiful area! Our Viator tour was worth every penny!!
We had two ferry rides which allowed us to snap some great photos of the Seattle skyline. We snowshoed Hurricane Ridge which was my number one objective for our day. We also visited a waterfall and a wonderful beach. We saw a totem pole receiving its finishing touches. We had a great breakfast, a wonderful picnic lunch and some yummy snacks throughout the day. We happened upon an area where trees were being cleared. Very cool to see the trees being packed up and headed to their new life.
Our guide, Sean, was delightful. He was VERY knowledgeable and taught us much about the Olympic National Park and the Olympic National Forest. He also had some wonderful stories about the area and how names and places came to be.
Our photos from the day are amazing!
Absolutely, 100% recommend this tour to truly enjoy the mountains surrounding Seattle.

JD, our tour guide, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We squeezed a lot into along day. The other folks in our group were great--personable and willing to hike. The sights were incredible. And even when the ferry broke down and we had to wait over an hour for another one, everyone remained in good spirits

What a wonderful way to spend the day! Our guide Andrew was knowledgeable and friendly. He spoke intelligently on the park, the local area, Native American history, geology, botany and geography. His easy manner coaxed all of the touring party of 8 to share our experiences locally and around the world. Lunch was wonderfully healthy and varied. Andrew's experience allowed him to adjust the day's itinerary as traffic and the weather made views available or routes too time consuming. I really enjoyed crossing the sound on the ferry. Because it was a clear day we had remarkable views of Mount Rainier, Baker and Olympus. The walks we took were not too strenuous or long. We climbed a hill for a great view, walked out to an overlook and a wandered through an old growth forest and out to a waterfall. The vehicle was large and comfortable, so glad I didn't have to drive those windy mountain roads myself.

This was an all-around good day. It was like spending the day with friends...there was one other guest besides myself and the tour guide. So definitely a small group. We snow shoed on Hurricane Ridge, saw the Madison Falls, Lake Crescent and the coast. And we got very adequate time at each place and stayed on schedule. Guide was great.. personable and knowledgeable.

What a great trip! Marty was our guide, he was a wealth of info on the area. He never tired of telling us about the trees, plants and the people native to the region. If you like the mountains-this is for you. We stopped several times for photo ops, snacks and water. The views were breathtaking even though we had somewhat limited visibility from the wildfires in B.C. Our lunch was well planned and healthy, plenty for all and we even had dessert! Because of the small group size, we were able to get to know everyone and it was really great. Don't think about it-just book it!!
