Long day, but well worth the trip! Our driver safely brought us to two tourist locations. He knew the back roads and special locations to get the best picture!

Would recommend this trip and company. The driver/guide - Thomas Heep - is a walking encyclopedia of information who also drives very safely. Trip from Frankfurt is a bit long as it covers two locations but the driver/car combination made it seem short. The castle was magical while the town has a lot of character. Wish this company also operated in the Black Forest area as there is a dearth of good operators there.

This is a long day, but SO worth it! The castle is set amongst the German Alps and is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable too. There was only two of us so we got a private car instead of a bus. The ride on the Autobahn was awesome too! I wish the time in Rothenburg was a little longer. Highly recommend this tour though!

I was in Frankfurt for business and decided to take this tour at the end of my stay. It is so worth the cost and is an amazing day! Our tour guide, Thomas, was extremely knowledgable and eager to share Germany with us. We had a group of 5 in a mini-bus. Rothenburg is so worth seeing and exploring - I wish we had more time there but we had to move on to make our tour at the castle. Approaching the castle was fantastic with a view of the Alps. Unfortunately, we experienced some heavy rain the moment we arrived. But there wasn't much to do but continue forth with our plans. So though we were cold and wet and had limited ability to take photos outdoors, this was a fantastic visit.

If you do this tour - bring snacks and water Thomas did have a sandwich for us but you need to be ready if that is not a common practice and wear sturdy shoes ! and if there is any chance of rain, bring proper attire and/or an umbrella. There is a lot of walking no matter how you cut it - the bus can only take you so far on the castle grounds. It's a long day so be prepared.

My sister, niece and I were just in Frankfurt a couple of weeks ago and the Neuschwanstein Castle was the top of our must see list! It is a bit of a drive but the time went by so fast thanks to our wonderful tour guide Jack! We stopped on the way to the beautiful Rothenburg at the Christmas Market for some shopping and pictures of the amazing architecture. On to Neuschwantein Castle which is like seeing a picture out of a fairy tale book. It is quite amazing and the village and location of the castle are equally beautiful. Since we were there in the winter there was some snow and a hike from the bottom of the drive to the top. They do have some horse drawn carriage rides to take you to the top but we walked. The actual tour of the castle isn't as long as we expected but it was well worth seeing. The whole tour would not have been near as enjoyable had we not had a wonderful guide. Jack is so knowledgeable and entertaining the trip went went by in a flash! If you are going to take this tour I highly recommend that you ask for Jack to be your guide.

This was a fantastic tour and I highly recommend it! Peter our tour guide was so professional and knowledgable about all the places we visited and he knew everything about everything and he was so informative. The German countryside is beautiful and our journey along the autobahn although very busy at the time was still well worth the ride! Our first stop in Rothenberg was lovely and it really is a beautiful town. We spent about an hour there which was fine by me as it still allowed us enough time to walk around and explore the town. The architecture and the well kept buildings are a must see! The castle was well maintained and the architecture and style of the building and everything with in is really quite amazing! I wanted to see a castle and Im glad I saw this castle! The tour was well worth it, it was a long day but all very manageable! The tour was well organised and again I cannot reiterate the professionalism and knowledge of our tour guide Peter! If he is guiding your tour you will be treated well! I would happily do another tour with him!

Our guide and driver was excellent. He was informative about Germany and gave his opinions on the current affairs when asked. We drove through and stopped at some German tourist attraction villages and arrived at the Neuschwanstein Castle as expected. The Castle itself was very interesting and unique. On our way back, we stopped at a typical German restaurant to have a good meal of pork and beer. Our guide knew the good places to eat along the way and how to avoid traffic backups. Overall, this tour have us looking forward to attending all the Octoberfest that goes on around where we live in Pennsylvania, and we are not even of German heritage.

Expensive tour, but totally worth it. You get to see so much within one day, all the while in the comfort of a nice Mercedes with a tour guide who knows his stuff. I am a solo female traveler, and I felt completely safe. Don't let the outdated office turn you off! Very professional and wonderful people. Thanks guys!

This tour is the highlight of my trip though Europe! I highly recommend it! The tour was very small with just two us A Japanese girl who was traveling solo and me. We met our tour guide, Peter the young Peter as there are two Peters with the tour company, at the meeting point, and he checked us in and gave us the itinerary of the day. We rode a luxurious mercedes, and it was very spacious for us. The traffic was light on the day we went, and we stopped by the picturesque town of Rothenburg first. It was so well preserved and BEAUTIFUL! My travel pal and I took a ton of pictures and couldnt put the camera down. Peter recommended a local pastry, Snowball, for us, and we both tried. Snowballs came in different flavors, and I tried chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut. The hazelnut one was oh-so-delicious! Try it if you can!!! We then continued our trip to the castle. Peter made a few restroom stops, and we had a comfortable rode trip down to the Bavarian states of Germany. It was so extremely scenery! We arrived the castle around 1pm Peter gave us the reserved tour ticket and made a few recommendations for us. The castle is not accessibly by car, so one would have to either climb up on foot or take a horse-drawn carriage ride cost a few euros. My travel pal and I decided to walk our way up. It was about 1 mile uphill, and it took us 20 minutes we made a few stops to take pictures. Taking Peter's recommendation, we continued walking our way pass the castle and to a hanging bridge, on which the view of the castle is the best. It was another 20-minute walk, if not longer, because there were so many picture opps, and we had to make stops here and there. We made it back to the audio tour meeting stop around 2:30pm. Since our tour wont start until 3:05pm, my travel pal and I used the restroom free at the castle entrance and shopped at the stores. Pictures are not allowed in the castle, and everyone goes with a organized audio tour. There are many languages to choose from. The English tour was very informative. My Japanese pal said the Japanese one was good as well! The tour lasted about 45 minutes, and we again stopped by the shop haha. By 4:15pm, we made it back down the hill and met up with Peter. The drive back to Frankfurt was long, but Peter made it fun by telling us more histories and all. I enjoyed every single minute of it! This tour is pricy comparing with other tours on Viator, but I highly recommend it! It is worth every penny of your money and more! Ask for the young Peter to be your guide tour, if possible!

Long day but well worth it just to be with Peter and Thomas and have friends take care of us all day. They told us everything about the sights we saw, made sure we were comfortable all the time, told us what to see, where to go, and even helped us pay for restrooms since we Americans were not at all accustomed to Local ways. Very good tour.

Neuschwanstein Castle was amazing! It's a long drive but must see at least once! Our guide Peter was slightly under the weather but was still a great guide, telling stories and introducing the best snowball to eat at Rothenburg. The Christmas museum at Rothenburg was also incredible but we didn't really stay long, because we heard there was snow up at the castle and we didn't want to be late, plus at this time of year it also got dark earlier. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this tour.

Rothenburg is beautiful! I would like to return and spend more time to explore this medieval town. It was an excellent prelude to a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. Snow came early this year, and the Sleeping Beauty Castle and surrounding Bavarian mountain slopes offered a scene much different from the brochures. It was a jaw dropping moment as the castle came to view nestled on the side of tkhe mountain, amidst the changing colors of fall plus a light blanket of snow. Thanks to our guide Jack, he made sure we got our money's worth from this tour.

Our favorite excursion of our trip to Germany and Austria. We have toured a number of castles and palaces around Europe and Neuschwanstein Castle was our favorite. We loved Rothenburg we just wished we had more time there. We had the opportunity to walk along its wall, tour the medieval city and have dinner. It was a long but perfect day. Peter was the best guide and did an excellent job of showing us the sights. He even dropped us off at our hotel afterward, which we did not expect.
