Day 2: JEJU East and South Course

Good Morning! The first place we are visiting in Jeju island is Manjanggul Cave. It is regarded as one of the longest and finest lava tubes in the world. The creation of this tunnel was initiated by an eruption of a parasite volcano, as its magma dig its way from the land towards the ocean. Despite its age which is about 200,000 to 300,000 years, the excellent condition and a variety of stone structures make this cave high in scientific value.

Sangumburi is a flat crater with a circumference of over 2 km, 650 meters wide, and100 meters deep. If you look at the crater from above up, it looks like a man-made circular stadium. There is an incredible variety of plant-lives in the small crater that it attracts the attention of many researchers.

This beach is distinctively different from normal beaches thanks to a few special features. The first is its soft black sand formed from gradual weathering of basalt rocks. Whimsically enough, the water is still emerald clear by the dark sand. You will also walk on solidified lava rock structures covered in green moss. Smell the fresh sea air, touch the vibrant surroundings, and walk as far into the horizon.

Also referred as ‘Sunrise Peak’, this archetypal tuff-cone structure rose from the shallow sea by hydro-volcanic eruptions 5,000 years ago. Climbing to the top, you can find a grass-filled crater surrounded by numerous sharp rocks. This colossal footprint left by nature is a UNESCO World Heritage and also a habitat for 200 types of trees and wild animals.

Japanese empire dig holes on the walls of this lava structure, using them to hide military camps. Now they are used by Haenyeos as their diving platforms. Haenyeos are female divers who dive into the ocean water to gather various shellfish, seaweed, etc, without using any underwater diving equipment. Their unique way of life and culture were inscribed as UNESCO Intangible Heritage of the World. You can watch their performance nearby.

Located at the foot of Mt. Halla, Seongeup Folk Village is a small town that holds a vast amount of indigenous Jeju culture. Cultural properties in the folk village have been handed down for generations, and include treasures such as residential houses, Confucian shrines and schools, ancient government offices, and fortress ruins.

The residents still lead their lives in company of this uniquely Jeju environment. Their thatched houses are flanked with black lava rock walls, and the straight but curvy alleys block the strong wind. Stone grandfather statues have become a prime feature of the landscape, and the locals grow black-haired pigs. Their home-grown black pork is known to be very nutritious.

Day 3: JEJU-BUSAN and Busan Tour

Gamcheon Culture Village is consisted of houses built in staircase-fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain, this village was originally made by war refugees for their settlement. In 2000's, the city government of Busan launched maintenance and revitalization project in the area, bringing vibrant murals and sculptures into the meandering alleys of this town. The success of the city projects earned this village the nickname "Machu Picchu of Busan."

Day 4: Head to Gyeongju and Golgulsa temple stay - Sunmoodo Experience

Golgulsa Temple is located amid the natural beauty of Hamwolsan Mountain, just outside of historic Gyeongju City. The temple runs Templestay programs 365 days a year, and it is possible to stay for a month or even longer.

Learning Sunmudo is also a unique experience at Golgulsa Temple.
Sunmudo is a form of moving meditation and martial art. It emphasizes the harmony of body and mind through observing one's breathing. It is a traditional Korean Buddhist martial art that traces its origins back over 1,000 years.

Relaxed and meditative, Sunmudo incorporates qigong movements that help us cultivate an awareness of our own internal energies, while leading us toward a greater sensitivity of the external energies flowing all around us. Day 5: GYEONGJU UNESCO Tour and Night View of Shilla Kingdom

Bulguksa Temple is a representative relic of Buddhist culture from the Silla kingdom. The temple was built during the 15th year of King Beopheung's reign (514-540) to wish for peace and prosperity for all. It was later rebuilt in 751 by Kim Dae-seong. Unfortunately, the temple caught fire during the Imjin War (1592-1598). After the war, the temple suffered serious damage and was often the target of theft. Starting in 1920, the temple has undergone continual restoration work. The temple now holds seven national treasures and a number of additional important heritages and was designated a World Cultural Heritage Site along with the nearby Seokguram Grotto by UNESCO in December 1995.

Seokguram Grotto was constructed by Kim Dae-Seong during the reign of King Gyeong-Deok (742-765) of the Silla Kingdom. Located 3 kilometers away by hiking trail and 9 kilometers by car from Bulguksa Temple, the grotto was designed very harmoniously with the seated Buddha facing the East Sea. It is a valuable cultural heritage that is preserved and registered as a UNESCO World Heritage on December 6, 1995.

Gyeongju Daereungwon Tomb Complex consists of five tombs, Ancient Tombs of Gyeongju Nodong-ri, Noseo-ri, Hwangnam-ri, Hwango-ri, and Inwang-ri. The tombs are distributed in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju-si, and are located in the Daereungwon area. Within Daereungwon Tomb Complex is Cheonmachong Tomb, which was excavated in 1973. Furthermore, Hwangnamdaechong Tomb was excavated between 1973 and 1975, and is a set of twin tombs belonging to a presumed married couple.

Cheomseongdae (Korean: 첨성대; Hanja: 瞻星臺, lit. 'star-gazing tower') is an astronomical observatory in Gyeongju, South Korea. Cheomseongdae is the oldest surviving astronomical observatory in Asia,[1][2][3] and possibly even the world.[4][5][6] It was constructed in the 7th century in the kingdom of Silla, whose capital was Seorabeol, or present-day Gyeongju (Hangul: 경주). Cheomseongdae was designated as the country's 31st national treasure on December 20, 1962.[7] It forms a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with other Gyeongju Historic Areas.

Modeled on Baekje's Jeomseongdae, which now exists only in historical records, the Cheomseongdae influenced the construction of the Japanese Senseidai (占星台) observatory in 675, and Duke Zhou's observatory in China in 723.

Stop At: Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, Inwang-dong, Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do 38163 South Korea
This is the most famous place maybe because of its night view! Must see site at night in Gyeongju

Gyeongju Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond was a secondary palace used by the crown prince of the Silla Kingdom. It also served as a banquet site for important national events and important visitors. The pond was created in 674, during the reign of King Munmu. The pond features three small islands, and a landscape of 12 small hills to the northeast. After the fall of Silla, the site was abandoned and forgotten. The pond was referred to as "Anapji" from the Goryeo and Joseon periods and onwards. In the 1980s, a pottery fragment with the letters “Wolji” (a pond that reflects the moon) carved onto it was found, revealing the true name of the pond. After the discovery, the site was renamed to the current Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.

Tapsa Temple is famous for the over 80 stone pagodas built by Lee Gapyong, a retired scholar. Those stone pagodas have different sizes and shapes from cone-shaped to straight-shaped.

Historic Site No. 339, Gyeonggijeon Shrine was erected in 1410 and holds the portrait of King Tae-jo, the founder of the Joseon dynasty. The shrine was originally given the name Eoyongjeon, but was changed to its current name in 1442, the 24th year of King Sejong the Great. The structure was partially destroyed during the Imjin War (1592-1598), and was restored in 1614.

Stop At: Jeondong Catholic Church, 200-1, Jeon-dong, Wansan-gu, Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do 560-040 South Korea
Jeondong Catholic Cathedral in Jeonju was built in honor of Roman Catholic martyrs of the Joseon dynasty on the very same spot the martyrs lost their lives. The land was purchased by French Priest Baudenet in 1891, but construction of the church did not begin until 1908. The church was designed by Priest Poinel, who also designed the famous Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul. Though originally built just outside of Pungnammun Gate, the site of the martyrs, the church was later moved to its current location for expansion. The first Romanesque building in the Honam region, Jeondong Catholic Cathedral is made of gray and red bricks and bears a striking resemblance to the Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul. Not only considered one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in Korea, some even go so far as to say it is one of the most beautiful structures in all of Korea, citing the church’s unique combination of Byzantine and Romanesque architectural styles.

Hwaseong Fortress, built to protect the city, was designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site on December 12, 1997 for its historical value. The fortress offers various performances daily as well as the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival every fall. The walls stretch for 5,700 kilometers, with Paldalsan Mountain at the center. The fortress, constructed from 1794 to 1796, was built as a display of King Jeongjo’s filial piety towards his father and to build a new pioneer city with its own economic power.

Situated at the top of Gwanghwamun Square, the presence of Gyeongbukgung palace gleams brightly in the central spine of the nation. As the first and largest palace built by Joseon Dynasty in 1395, this grand villa consisted of 330 buildings and had up to 3,000 staffs.

Before entering to explore the palace, we will watch the changing ceremony of royal guards. This enactment is an excellent opportunity to experience a rare tradition, performed exactly as it used to be held. Guards appear wearing royal uniforms, carrying traditional weapons and playing traditional instruments.

Insa-dong, located in the heart of the city, is an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. There is one main road in Insa-dong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries, traditional restaurants, teahouses, and cafes.

The galleries are the heartbeat of Insa-dong. There are about 100 galleries in the area and you can see every example of traditional Korean fine art from paintings to sculptures. Traditional craft stores dealing with calligraphy, ceramics, embroidery, and stamps are interesting complement to galleries.

Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional houses called hanok, that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. Created by the first city-planner of Korea, these intimate structures will delight you as you discover your way around the hillside village.

Gwangjang Market was the first permanent market in Korea and continues to thrive as a popular tourist destination today, popularized by a recent Netflix show. The second floor of the market is filled with silk, satin, and linen bed-sheet stores, which are the largest and most famous in Seoul.

The highlight of this market is, however, discovering the animated street food stalls! We will go sampling some of the best Korean street foods here. The specialties in this market are octopus tartar and mung-bean pancakes. You will also be introduced to eccentric Korean foods such as steamed pork feet, blood sausage, and spicy chicken feet.

Take in the breathtaking 360-degree view of the Seoul Metropolis! The top of the tower is at almost 480m above sea level, including Namsan Mountain(243m) and the tower’s own height(236.7m).

The tower was first established as a broadcast tower to send out TV and radio signals in 1969. As of now, it has become one of the representative landmarks and multi-cultural venues in Seoul. At the tower, you can check out other highlights including the famous 'Locks of Love' and ancient beacon mounds.

Day 9: Demiliterized Zone + Suspension Bridge at Mt.Gamak or Majang Lake

Stop At: DMZ, Munsan-eup, Majeong-ri Imjingak Tourist information center, Paju, Gyeonggi-do South Korea
It's not just common tour destination, we get in military zone, so there's procesure to get in and it has its policies
1. No reservation for DMZ tickets
2. First come and First Served, so meeting time is early
(But no worries, at imjingak park, there's snack bar and restaurants)
3. You must bring your passports
4. Without any further notice, DMZ can be shut down
in this case, we refund or do alternative tours

At first, we need to stop by imjingak peace park to buy DMZ tickets and need to summit document of tourists

Stop At: Dora Observatory, Jeomwon-ri, Gunnae-myeon, Paju, Gyeonggi-do 413-920 South Korea
It's kind of highlight of the tour I think since it's where you can see N.Korean with your naked eyes and binocular

You can see Gaeseong city, the industrial complex that N. and S. Korea cooperated, NKorean village,etc
If you are lucky, you can see n.korea soldiers,too
Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Tongil Park (Unification Park), Aninjin-ri, Gangdong-myeon, Gangneung, Gangwon-do South Korea
It's the only village in Civilian control zone where actually ppl live in

It's the last stop of DMZ tour, where you can buy DMZ things and local products
It's just part of the dmz shuttle route, we need to stop by
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge, 48-6, Seolma-ri, Jeokseong-myeon Gamaksan Mountain, Paju, Gyeonggi-do South Korea
Gamaksan was the fiersing battle field of Korean war so we were looking for missing ones here too
But now it turned to beautiful mountain where a lot of locals visit

Only 10min hiking then you can see the suspension bridge and cross! enjoy the beauty of Korean nature,too

Korean cooking class, you can cook different type of Korean Food like 2- 3menu, depending on season, menu changes
Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Cookin' NANTA (Myeongdong), 7, Chungjeong-ro, Seodaemun-gu Chungjeongno NANTA Theatre, Seoul 04536 South Korea
It's none verbal and comic show with Korean traditional Rythem , it's fusion!
It's the most famous show for tourists!
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
