2-hour Busselton Jetty Package: Jetty train and Underwater Observatory
  • 2-hour Busselton Jetty Package: Jetty train and Underwater Observatory

Begin your 1-hour and 45-minute tour with a Jetty Train journey 1.05-miles (1.7-kilometers) across the Indian Ocean to visit the Underwater Observatory, located at the end of the Jetty, where you will be greeted by your guide. Descend 8-metres to the ocean floor via a spiral staircase to view some of the 300 species of vividly colored tropical and sub-tropical corals, sponges, fish and invertebrates in their natural environment. A unique design, the Observatory was opened in December 2003 and is one of only six Underwater Observatories in the world.

Between the 29th of April and the 27th of September 2019, an amazing Virtual Reality (VR) Experience is added to the tour when the visibility from the Observatory windows can be affected by adverse weather conditions. *Virtual Reality Experience is only available during low visibility. When visibility is good to excellent, standard Underwater Observatory Tours will operate.

Beautiful sunshine and sea place! Fantastic volunteers serving the community. Given more time, do try the walking than taking the jetty train which is just fine but a little bumpy and not able to hear the intro from the sound speaker. The underwater observatory though not a large area to boast about but really the closest one can get to see the fishes swimming freely along with the live growth organism and corals without the wet suit. Must say the food in the restaurant at the jetty is one of my favourites while in Perth!

This was a great few hours to enjoy the jetty and underwater observatory. The little train was very relaxing and enjoyable. The tour guide was very well informed about the fish at the end of the jetty. The facilities and views were great. I can't recommend this enough.
I bought tickets online as it was a long weekend and the process was very easy.

It's a great trip, you go on the little train. You can close the plastic window so it is not to windy. Going down the observatory is great. It's a little bit busy with a big group and not al people have patience to wait. Smaller groups would be better.
