Stop At: Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbishan), Within Xiangbishan Park, Xiangshan District, Guilin 541004 China

Elephant Trunk Hill is located at the west bank of the Li River. It gets its name because it looks like a huge elephant dig its trunk into the river. The hill is 55 meters high, 108 meters long, 100 meters wide and has an elevation of 200 meters above sea level. The Elephant Trunk Hill is regarded as the symbol of Guilin City. Between the elephant trunk and the elephant legs there is a bright huge cave, namely, the Shuiyue (water & moon) Cave. Under the moon light, the shadow of the cave is like a moon in the river. Thus there are two moons in the river. Out of the Shuiyue Cave, stepping to the slope, there is a cave going through the hill, like the eye of the elephant, hence the name Elephant's Eye Rock. On the top of the hill there is the Puxian (Samantabhadra) Pagoda built in the Ming Dynasty. Looking from afar, the pagoda is like the handle of a sword, also like a vase, so it is also called Jianbing (sword handle) Pagoda or Baoping (Vase) Pagoda.

Stop At: Fubo Hill, Binjiang Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin 541002 China

Named after General Fubo of the Han dynasty, Fubo Hill stands overlooking Guilin city. It is 120 metres long, 60 metres wide and 213 metres high. Located on the west bank of Li River, it's half submerged yet still standing elegantly over the river. The hill itself has stairs that lead to the top. Halfway up the hill is a small pavilion which looks over the surrounding neighborhoods. On the top of the hill, there is another pavilion which was first built in Tang Dynasty with a spectacular view of the city, the Li River and the mountains scattered around Guilin City. Pearl Returning Cave is located at the base of Fubo Hill. A boat ride into the green waters of the cave would engross the tourist with the Buddha paintings and rock formations like no other. There is also another cave, the Thousnad Buddha cave which is 133 square metres big and houses more than 239 Buddha Statues spread over three tiers, which are hidden and enveloped inside Fubo Hill.

Stop At: Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan), No.1 Qixing Road, Qixing District, Guilin 541004 China

Covering an area of more than 120 hectares, Seven Stars Park is the largest and the most-visited park in Guilin. The name of Seven Stars, is derived from the fact that there are four peaks on Putuo Hill and three peaks on Crescent Hill, which replicates from the seven stars in the Ursa Major constellation. Within the park, the mountains are of great beauty, the waters are clean, the stone peaks are precipitous, and the caves are deep. The major scenic spots there are Floral Bridge, Putuo Mountain, Seven Stars Rock, Camel Peak, Yueya Mountain, Longyin Cave and Guihai Forest of Steles. Floral Bridge is the oldest bridge in Guilin. Camel Hill is another attraction in the park. This natural formation is called Camel Hill because this limestone outcrop looks really like a camel. Seven Star Cave is located inside the Putuo Hill. The Cave is famous for the various shapes of magnificent stalactites formation with a temperature of 20'C remained all year around inside the cave.

Guilin Chongshan Road Mosque was built in 1735 during the 13th year of Emperor Yongzheng’s rein, expanded in 1849 during the 14th year of Emperor Jiaqing’s rein, and experienced renovation during the rein of Emperor Daoguang (1821-1850) and during the Republic of China (1912-1949). At present, Guilin Chongshan Road mosque covers an area of 2000 square meters, as the best preserved mosque with the largest scale in Guilin. Guilin Chongshan transept Mosque is considered an important historic and cultural site under protection. In 1982, President of Pakistan came to this mosque to perform Jumah prayer, and presented a full set of Koran cassette and recorders to the mosque. He even planted four Tasong trees in front of the gate himself, to pray for the ever lasting friendship of Muslims and people of the whole nation between China and Pakistan.

Stop At: Jingjiang Royal Residence, No.1 Wangcheng Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin 541004 China

Enclosed by an imposing wall with huge gates, Jingjiang Prince's City was the official residence of Prince Jingjiang of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), It is a miniature of the Forbidden City. Zhu Shouqian was appointed as the Jingjiang King by his grandfather who was the first emperor of Ming Dynasty. It was completed in the year 1392 and was built to comply with the design for all kings. The main buildings include Chengyuan Gate in the front, Chengyun Hall in the middle with the living hall at its back and the royal garden at the end. 14 kings from 12 generations lived here. Over its history of more than 600 years the city was burned down several times, however it remains as the best preserved Prince City in China. Notably, the carved balustrades and marble steps still remain. Today the site is occupied by Guangxi Normal University, but remains open to the public as popular tourist attraction combining aspects of Guilin's natural beauty, history, traditional architecture and local culture.

Stop At: Solitary Beauty Peak, No.1 Wangcheng, Guilin China

Solitary Beauty Peak stands in solitary grace at the center of the ancient Mansion of Prince Jingjiang (a noble family in the Ming Dynasty). Towering from the ground with an elevation of 216 meters, it is reputed as Sky-Supporting Pillar in the South. During the Southern Dynasty (420-589), some 1500 years ago, Yan Yanzhi, governor of Guilin, wrote the line: none can surpass this solitary peak in beauty, hence the name Solitary Beauty Peak. At the foot of the peak are Dushu (Study) Rock, Taiping (Peace) Rock and Yueya (Crescent) Pond. On the eastern side of the hill there are many inscriptions from the Qing dynasty, such as Southern Sky-Supporting Pillar and Purple Gown and Golden Belt. A flight of 396 stone steps leads from the west foot of the hill up to the top, where you can get a panoramic view of the whole city and all the mountains surrounding it.

Stop At: Guilin Two Rivers and Four Lakes Resort, Zhongshan North Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin 541001 China

Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area is a connecting water system located in Guilin downtown area. As the name suggests, it consists of two rivers and four lakes. The two rivers are Li River and Taohua (Peach Blossom ) River. The four lakes are Rong (Banyan Tree) Lake, Shan (Chinese fir) Lake, Gui (Osmanthus tree) Lake, and the Mulong (Wooden Dragon) Lake. These lakes and rivers are linked up and formed Guilin's central round-the-city water system. The Two Rivers and Four Lakes make Guilin just like a grand beautiful park. The Ancient South Gate of Guilin stands by the Rong Lake. There are two identical arched marble bridges located in front of the Ancient South Gate across the Rong Lake. Altogether there are 19 different styled bridges connecting the two rivers and four lakes with pavilions, statues, and stone carvings around the lakes. At night with the lamplights glittering on the pristine water, the landscape turns into a galaxy of ecological harmony between human and nature.
