Our first stop will be the famous Rusizi National Park, Bujumbura's leading top attraction. Welcome to the Paradise of Birds Crocs, and Hippo in Burundi. Our next stop on this amazing tour of Bujumbura will be Rusizi National Park a national park in Burundi it is the main tourist attraction in Bujumbura City not to be missed located next to the Rusizi River. It is 15 km north of the city of Bujumbura and is home to hippopotamuses and sitatungas. We will take a guided boat trip tour to explore the meeting of the famous Rusizi river mouth jetting itself into lake Tanganyika. Small group tours equal a better experience.

We will stop at this amazing attraction and historical place of independence of Burundi which occurred on the 1st of July 1962. It's a must-see on your Bujumbura City tour. Where the first historically democratically elected president namely Ndadaye Melchior his cabinet members and members of parliament were assassinated by the extremist Tutsi Army after being in office for only three months.
