The White Tower, the monument - symbol of Thessaloniki that dominates the port, was built in the late 15th - early 16th century and was the southeastern tower of its fortification. In its historical course it changed names and uses. Kalamaria Fortress, Janissary Tower and Blood Tower were some of them, the last two due to the use of the Tower as a prison for prisoners executed by the Janissaries and its face was stained with blood from the frequent executions. In 1890 a convict, in order to gain his freedom, whitewashed the tower with lime and since then its current name has remained, "White Tower".

The impressive 'Kamara', as it is called, is one of the most beloved and popular monuments for the people of Thessaloniki (and not only), as it is the meeting point of residents, students, visitors before starting their walk in the city located on Egnatia Street. It was built in memory of the victory of Galerius over the Persians between 295 - 305 AD. The relief decoration depicts the military battles and the victories of Galerius.

The Rotunda is one of the most imposing monuments of Thessaloniki and one of the most important of the Roman period in Europe. With its architectural power and the incomparable art of mosaic walls inside, it is a special monument, which balances uniquely between the pagan and the Christian world. It was founded at the beginning of the 4th AD. century, probably as a temple of ancient worship or as a mausoleum of Constantine the Great and is located on the axis of the procession road, which connected the triumphal arch of Galerius with the Palace complex, near today's Navarino Square.

The Temple of God Wisdom, dedicated to Christ, the true Word and the Wisdom of God, was built in the late 7th century and is a typical example of a transitional cruciform church with a dome and a vestibule, in imitation of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople. The beautiful frescoes of the 11th century and its mosaics are considered masterpieces of Byzantine art. During the Latin rule in Thessaloniki (1204-1224) the church became the cathedral of the Latins while after the restoration of Byzantine rule in the city it was again the Orthodox episcopal see of Thessaloniki until 1523/24, when it was converted into a mosque.

Dedicated to the patron saint of the city, the majestic Basilica of Agios Dimitrios, is one of the most important early Christian churches in Thessaloniki. It was originally built in the ruins of a Roman bath, in the place where, according to tradition, the Saint was imprisoned and martyred in 303. The first temple, a small shrine, was built in 313. The holy place of martyrdom, the Crypt, is located below the transverse aisle of the church and in the late Byzantine years was the center of the myrrh-washing of the Saint.

Stop At: The Greek Agora and Roman Forum, Thessaloniki Greece

Roman Agora was a social and religious center of Roman Thessaloniki. Its construction took place in two phases (mid 2nd and mid 3rd century AD). An underground museum was formed that presents the history of the excavation, the history of the area from the Hellenistic years as well as data for the construction of the museum. South of the archeological site and near the Paradise Baths were the famous 'Enchanted' (lasIncantadas, as the Spanish-Jews who lived in the area called them).
