the Palace of the Shirvanshahs is Baku’s most important historic landmark. During the Middle Ages, it served as the seat of power and residence of northeastern Azerbaijan’s ruling family. According to inscriptions, Shirvan Khalil I (1417–1462) commissioned two of the main structures, a tomb and a mosque.
When restorations took place in 2003, the main building of the palace was set aside for a museum. It displays a nice collection of textiles, costumes and artefacts. Leafy gardens link the complex of burial vaults, mausoleums, gates, bath houses and reservoirs. All feature exquisite stonework and fluid inscriptions

The Maiden Tower is a 12th-century monument in the Old City, Baku, Azerbaijan. Along with the Shirvanshahs' Palace, dated to the 15th century, it forms a group of historic monuments listed in 2001 under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments as cultural property, Category III. It is one of Azerbaijan's most distinctive national emblems, and is thus featured on Azerbaijani currency notes and official letterheads.

The Maiden Tower houses a museum, which presents the story of the historic evolution of Baku city. It also has a gift shop. The view from the roof takes in the alleys and minarets of the Old City, the Baku Boulevard, the house of Isa bek Hajinski and a wide vista of the Baku Bay.

Baku Boulevard (Azerbaijani: Dənizkənarı Milli Park, also known as National Park) is a promenade established in 1909 which runs parallel to Baku's seafront. Its history goes back more than 100 years, to a time when Baku oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian shore and when the seafront was artificially built up inch by inch.

At the time of establishing, it was the only museum that was dedicated to the art of carpet weaving. The main purpose of the creation of the museum was to store, research, and demonstrate unique examples of the carpet weaving art, which are the Azerbaijan’s national heritage. As a result, numerous research expeditions in different regions of Azerbaijan were enriched museum funds by items of the material culture of the country. Here, were collected the Azerbaijani carpets, carpet items, and other kinds of crafts. The museum vault houses seven collections: Pile Carpets; Flat-woven Carpets; Carpet Products; Artistic Metalwork; Ceramics, Glass, Wood, Paper; Textile, Costume, Embroidery; and Jewelry.

Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, which is located in one of the country’s most modern buildings, not only stores a rich collection of artifacts and carpets, but also operates as the site for the comprehensive research of traditional carpet weaving art and its popularization within world culture.

Take the cable car up to the highest point in Baku at Upland Park, boasting panoramic views of the Azerbaijani capital. Enjoy the scenic funicular ride to the summit; alternatively, you can drive or climb the stairs leading to the hilltop. Once there, stroll through the park and take in the peaceful atmosphere, with an expansive bird's-eye view of the city and the Caspian coastline. Nearby towers dominate the park's surroundings, making for a memorable photo op.

Baku Museum of Miniature Books-is the only museum of miniature books in the world, settled in the old part of Baku, called Inner City.
The collection contains miniature books published in post-revolutionary Russia and in the Soviet period.
There are books in the exposition from several countries including Moldavia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus and from the republics of Middle Asia and Europe.There are many rare editions including those of Chukovsky, Barto, Gogol, Dostoyevsky, and works of A.S.Pushkin. Miniature books of the famous Azerbaijani classics, such as Vagif, Khurshidbanu Natavan, Nizami Ganjavi, Nasimi, Fizuli, Samed Vurgun, Mirza Fatali Akhundov and others are exhibited in the museum.
