Byron Bay Permaculture Workshop - Incredible Tubers

Byron Bay Permaculture Workshop - Incredible Tubers

This tour offers an authentic Byron Bay hinterland experience to travellers visiting the Northern Rivers. It allows the community to learn about local products, meet with their local farmers and understand the hard work behind following sustainable farming practices. This is the perfect outdoor activity to discover the beauty of the Northern Rivers and taste the delicious products of the Byron hinterland.

This permaculture workshop will introduce you to the basic concepts of permaculture and then run you through the amazing varieties of tubers and perennial vegetables that can be grown in the subtropics: yams, taro, yakon, cassava, arrowroot, turmeric and more. You will lean how to propagate, grow, harvest and cook with these wonderful vegetables.

Morning tea will feature sweet and savoury dishes prepared from new season tubers plus local Nimbin specialities including artisan sourdough breads, Nimbin Valley Dairy and Mountain Top Coffee.

If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know at least 48h prior to the workshop.

The workshop includes return transportation from your pick-up location in Byron Bay to the Farm.
