Our boat, named Volt has made its first trip In 2020. With our captain, Ed who has a lot of knowledge of Alkmaar and its canals, sailing with Volt is the perfect activity for a fun day with friends, family or colleagues. Volt can accommodate groups of 8 until 28 people, from April until October. Of course the boat is more than just fun. It is also fully electric. One drink is included in the standard ticket. High Tea, High Coffee, High Cocktail, High Beer or High Wines are included when these options are selected.

As we sail past the mill you can regularly see how the wind drives the blades and with what force this is accompanied. The large stone mill was built in 1769. The newly built mill took the place of three wooden post mills that previously stood on this site. Those three small mills were also intended for grinding grain into flour.

Sail past the old customs tower. In 1622, the city council decided to build the Accijnstoren on the proposal of Mayor Oudesteyn. The tower owes its name to the excise duties (= taxes) that local authorities were allowed to levy on import and export goods. The levy was an important source of income for municipalities.
