There are some quirky places to visit besides Lake Atitlan, Antigua, and the volcanos, like the Caves of Actun Kan. The caves are sacred spots for the Mayans as they used to believe that were the entrance to the infraworld where some of their gods lived. The ceremonies that take place nowadays are to pray for their ancestors, ask for advice or a favor.

We will start the tour by picking you up at the lobby of your hotel in Flores Island or Santa Elena in Peten. The time to get to the Caves of Actun Kan is very short, only a 10-15 minutes drive. We will follow all biosecurity protocols so you can travel safely. Your health is a priority for us. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Stop At: Actun Kan Municipal Regional Park, W433+5RP, Flores, Guatemala
Once we arrive at the caves, a security helmet with a flashlight will be given to each participant. It is very dark inside the caves, if you would like to bring an extra flashlight, you are allowed.
The tour through the caves requires basic physical condition so most people can participate.
Learn about the Mayans that used to visit the caves believing that they were the entrance to the infraworld, where some of their gods lived. Nowadays, some Mayans still go to caves to celebrate ceremonies.
The length of the caves is 2.5 km total and 1 km is illuminated, however, it is always recommended to go with the company of an expert tour guide to avoid any inconvenience since there are some caverns and hallways where is easy to get lost.
