The Murchison Falls National Park is located in the northern part of Uganda, along the banks of the Nile River. It is one of the largest national parks in the country, covering an area of over 3,840 square kilometers. The stunning Murchison Falls, which is where the Nile River drops more than 150 feet over a rocky cliff.
One of the highlights of your safari trip will be a boat cruise along the Nile River. This will give you the chance to see the falls up close, as well as spot a variety of wildlife that lives along the river, including hippos, crocodiles, and a wide array of bird species.


Itinerary

Day 1: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK | VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY

Stop At: Murchison Falls National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Western Region
Morning arrival in Entebbe\Kampala, Uganda, a country of beaming with greenery, deep lakes, soaring mountains, rich biodiversity and a wealth of cultural heritage. Enjoy a scenic drive via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, an upcoming breeding ground for the once extinct white Rhino. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park- the most scenic spots along the Nile and the location of the classic Humphrey Bogart film, The African Queen for check in. Join your guide for a visit to Murchison Falls, where invigorating spray — the collective force of the majestic Nile — showers a narrow ravine, only 7 meters (23 feet) wide before plunging 43 meters (141 feet).

Day 2: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK | Full Day Game Drive

Stop At: Murchison Falls National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Western Region
Today, set out on a game drive along the northern banks of the Nile in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park. You may see giraffes, buffalo, elephants, warthogs, leopards, lions and antelopes. This afternoon, embark on a boat cruise to the base of the falls, watch out for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and birds on the river’s banks.

Day 3: TRANSFER TO KAMPALA | OPTIONAL BUDONGO CHIMPANZEES EXPERIENCE

Depending on the time of your check out, have an optional Chimpanzee tracking within Budongo Rain forest. Drive directly back to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport for drop off.

Optional activity: Chimp tracking Budongo forest
Budongo Forest is located in the southern part of Murchison Falls NP., and has the highest number of wild chimpanzees of Uganda. The habituated groups are located in Kaniyo Padibi, where you can go for chimpanzee tracking. Budongo Forest has an incredible biodiversity that – beside the chimpanzee – includes several other species like the Blue monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys and Olive baboons

Optional activity: Hot air balloon safari - Possible on day 3
Discover Murchison Falls from the air! Sign up for this optional activity and enjoy to a unique experience of flying over Murchison Falls NP in a hot air balloon. You will have the most amazing views over the river Nile, Lake Albert, the great Murchison Falls and of course this is the best way to a bird’s view of animals. You will start early morning, so you will see the sun rise over the park. After your balloon safari you will have a bush breakfast in the park (inclusive).
