Megalithic and Cork Forest Tour from Évora

A tour that will begin with a drive trough the "Montado". Portuguese for Cork oak forest. It is a very important heritage left by our ancestors. An opportunity to learn about the management of this system.
During the tour we will visit 3 megalithic monuments, traveling back 7.000 years we will try to understand what lead humans to build this incredible monuments.


Itinerary

Stop At: Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, Evora, Evora District, Alentejo

On the way to the Cromlech of Almendres we will be driving through a cork oak forest. There we will be stoping next to some cork trees, being able to touch and explore them, your will learn about this incredible agricultural system that is not only about cork extraction but also about the balance between us and the nature.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Cromeleque dos Almendres, Via R. do Cromeleque village of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe - Almendras, Evora 7000-223 Portugal

The most mysterious place in the region. With world level archeological and historical importance. A monument with 7.000 years

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Valverde, Valverde, Viseu District, Northern Portugal

The Dolmen of Barrocal is located on top of isolated hill. Right in the middle of the typical Alentejo landscape. It will be the perfecto to enjoy once more the historical culture of a pre historical monument and also of Alentejo

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Anta Grande do Zambujeiro, Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, Evora 7005-566 Portugal

The biggest Dolmen in the Iberian Peninsula, It was excavated and today we can witness the dimension of this construction with 5.000 years. It testifies the archeological importance of the region.
