Itinerary

Whether it’s a social evening or a team-building exercise, Sean will draw on 20 years in the business and his WSET qualifications, to explain:

The geography and geology of wine regions
How to keep, serve, taste and drink wine
Cheese and other food pairings
Traditions, myths and customs of viticulturists
Which wines are organic, biodynamic, vegan and hypoallergenic
The history of grape growing and fermentation
Wine in literature, art and song
Ampelography and oenology (grape varieties and wine-making)
The secrets of the vineyards
Understanding bottle labels
…and how to avoid hangovers!

Themes include :
Wine 101 : “How to taste”: Six delicious wines, each one exemplifying a different style with its own explanation and history.

Regional Themes: Allow yourself to be taken on a country-wide taste-tour of viticultural virtuosity such as Italy, France, Germany, Hungary. If you have a special request, just let me know.

Wine styles: Discuss the nuances of a particular wine style (for example rosé, fortified wine, or bubbles) tasting 6 examples that show the different characteristics.

Food pairing: Learn why certain wines improve different foods.
