Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1: Arrival to Salta, Argentina.

Pass By: Salta, Salta, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
Reception at Salta airport and transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon to visit the city of Salta and its surroundings.

Day 2: Day 2: From Salta to Purmamarca by San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 40 & Big Salt Lakes.

Stop At: Purmamarca, Purmamarca, Province of Jujuy, Northern Argentina
The journey begins by travelling the path parallel to the railway of the famous Tren de las Nubes (Train to the Clouds), through the Quebrada del Toro, climbing up to 4,000 meters (13,000 ft.) above mean sea level, to reach San Antonio de los Cobres, a beautiful town frozen in time. It continues to route 40 reaching the Salinas Grandes, precise border between Salta and Jujuy. Descend down the Cuesta de Lipán, where you can generally catch a sight of condors, to arrive to the town of Purmamarca and its Cerro de los Siete Colores (Seven Color Mountain). Night to be spend in this charming town of the Quebrada.

Day 3: Day 3: Humahuaca gorge and return to Salta.

Stop At: Quebrada de Humahuaca, Rio Grande Purmamarca Village, Humahuaca Argentina
The journey begins from Purmamarca to travel around the Humahuaca gorge, declared Heritage of Humanity. The landscape and the colors of the mountains blend with the local people and the north culture. Visits included: Posta de Hornillos, Tilcara, Huacalera, pass of the Tropic of Capricorn, the Uquía Church, and Humahuaca and Maimará; Return to Salta.

Day 4: Day 4: Day tour to Cafayate wine area.

Stop At: Cafayate, Cafayate, Province of Salta, Northern Argentina
We head to the Calchaquíes Valley passing through an area where tobacco, cotton, sugar cane and fruit trees are grown. Travel along the banks of Río de las Conchas where different geographical shapes in the mountains can be admired due to the erosion of time; its origins date from over sixty million years. The landscape you will see is the result of the dryness of the environment. Moving forward you will be able to see extensions of vineyards. Sign you are getting close to the area of Cafayate where the Torrontés wine is made; this wine is known worldwide for its excellent quality. Visit to a winery to see the process of the wine and taste the varieties they have to offer. Return to Salta.

Day 5: Day 5: From Salta, Argentina to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.

Stop At: San Pedro de Atacama, San Pedro de Atacama, Antofagasta Region
Transfer from Salta to San Pedro de Atacama in regular bus. Reception in San Pedro de Atacama bus terminal and transfer to your hotel.

Day 6: Day 6: San Pedro de Atacama High plateau Salt Flats & Lakes.

Stop At: Salar de Atacama, Antofagasta Chile
Visit to Atacama salt flat, a depression of 3,000 kilometers without exit of waters that receives San Pedro River and a lot of bankruptcy by which wateris filtered from the Andes Mountain. Its cover is white and rough, stained by fine dust of the desert.
During our passage we will visit the Toconao town, an oasis in where people cultivate all type of fruits. In front of its square is located the Church and Bell tower of San Lucas, declared National Monument.
The salt is product of the underground water outcrop that, saturated of salts, evaporates leaving scabs rich in salt and minerals. The rivers fed by Andean snows, cross the area allowing the configuration of multiple oasis. This it is the scene where the atacameñan culture was developed.
The air is extraordinarily dry here, which gives it a perfect transparency. The salt scab has been opened to leave space to small lagoons that are favorite habitat of aquatic birds, particularly Flamingoes, Taguas and Guallatas.

Day 7: Day 7: Geysers del Tatio & Sunset in the Moon Valley.

Stop At: Geyser del Tatio, 174a Caracoles, San Pedro de Atacama 1410000 Chile
Visit to Geysers del Tatio, a geothermal field located in the Andes mountain range. It is the highest of world (4,200 mts of height). It's in the morning early hours when it is presented an impressive steam fumaroles activity produced by the high temperatures of its watery craters. It is surrounded by hills that reach 5900 meters of height.
Approximately between 06:00 and 07:00 am the maximum expression of these steam fumaroles take place with temperatures that reach 85°C, and that emerge from the Earth with force arriving at approximate heights between 7 and 8 mts. It is possible to observe vicunas, llamas, ñandues and vizcachas, while in the flora emphasize the giant cactus, llaretas and coiron. The temperature in the morning fluctuates between 15°C and 2°C under cero at night.
The place also counts with thermal water pools, with mineral deposits, which upholster 10 km2 of the geothermal field, while, at heart, the snow volcanoes summits stand out against a metallic blue sky.

Stop At: Ruta Valle de la luna, San Pedro de Atacama, Antofagasta, Chile
In the afternoon visit of the Moon Valley, located in the Salt mountain range. This is an interesting area of formation of stone and sand. Declared Sanctuary of the Nature it comprises of Los Flamencos National Reserve. Located inside the Salto mountain range Located to 13 kilometers to the west of San Pedro de Atacama. The valley receives this name due to the great similarity of the place to the mole landscapes.

Day 8: Day 8: From San Pedro de Atacama, Chile to Ojo de Perdiz, Bolivia visiting the Green lagoon and Red lagoon.

Stop At: Bolivia, Bolivia
Today we will travel towards the National Reserve of Andean Fauna Eduardo Avaroa. Visit to Green Lagoon, an impressive aquatic mirror that resembles a giant emerald with a particular brightness in the mornings and afternoons; its color is due to the high magnesium content in the water. In the proximities of this lagoon is the Licancahur Volcano (5,868 m). Continue to Sol de Mañana (Morning Sun) a place where it is possible to appreciate fumes, geysers and volcanic holes. This landscape remains us the origins of the earth. The next stop will be the Red Lagoon, populated by 3 species of flamencos (among them the famous James) this lagoon is very impressive because of its red color, that is due to the fine sediment accumulation of the same color on the surface, as well as the pigmentation of a certain type of seaweed. Box lunch. Continue the journey crossing the Siloli desert to appreciate an interesting rock formation well-known as Stone Tree. Arrive to your hotel in Ojo de Perdiz.

Day 9: Day 9: From Ojo de Perdiz to Colchany by Uyuni Salt flat.

Stop At: Salar de Uyuni, Uyuni Bolivia
Depart towards Uyuni Salt Flat and Incahuasi Island. This island is located in the heart of the salt flat and is the greatest of a group of islands that represents an isolated ecosystem. The island is populated with a cacti species that measures up to 12 meters high, providing an impressive overview. Arrival to Uyuni and transfer to your salt hotel.
** During the rainy season, from November to March, the salt flat could be flooded in that case passengers will visit the train cemetery, the Colchani village where it is possible to observe the extracting salt process by hand. Visit the salt eyes, impressive for its geology and cross the salt flat as much as possible to enjoy a beautiful landscape. The entire salt flat is completely cover with water and it becomes in a white giant mirror where the sky is reflected perfectly and everything seems to be floating in the air. Box lunch is served in the middle of the salt flat.

Day 10: Day 10: From Uyuni to La Paz; arrival and City tour.

Stop At: La Paz, La Paz, La Paz Department
Transfer from hotel to Uyuni Airport. Reception La Paz airport and transfer to your hotel.
City tour starts with the visit to the famous Witch Doctor's Market, San Francisco Colonial Church and the typical handicrafts of the Sagarnaga Street.The tour continues to Plaza Murillo where the Cathedral, the Government Palace and the National Congress buildings are located. Then, visit the famous colonial street Jaen where interesting museums are clustered together, followed by a visit to the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku Culture. To change scenery the tour continues to the residential areas of Obrajes, Calacoto and La Florida. The tour ends with a visit to the unique Moon Valley, where passengers will have the opportunity to walk around, and visit a ceramic workshop with a demonstration of the art of pottery.

Day 11: Day 11: Day visit to Copacabana, Sun Island (South), Inti Wata Complex and Titicaca Lake.

Stop At: Copacabana, Copacabana, La Paz Department
Early transfer to Copacabana's Sanctuary, visit of the Main Square. Then board the Catamaran Cruise Ship to sail to Sun Island, birthplace of the Inca Empire. In this legendary island you will visit the Inca's Garden, stairs and fountain.
The itinerary includes a visit to the Inti Wata Cultural Complex which includes the Ekako Underground Museum, the traditional medicine and the Titikaka Reed Shipbuilders display centers, the Pachamama agricultural Inca terraces, a handicraft center, the Intica lounge, and at the Manco Kapac lookout, the largest variety of Andean camelids.
This visit also includes a unique sailing experience on a huge Titikaka traditional reed vessel for a panoramic visit to the Pilkokaina Inca Palace. Catamaran Cruise Ship, enjoy a buffet lunch on board, land transfer to La Paz.
