This was the first tour of the trip and it was SO fun! It's really easy to find and they even have a small parking lot. Most of the chocolate tasting happened at the end of the tour so don't worry! but it was really fascinating to learn about the plant and the process along the way. The guide was really entertaining and even got me up dancing in front of the whole group I know, I can't believe it either. Just make sure you bring/apply extra bug spray before you go!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny which made learning about the cocoa bean and chocolate-making process enjoyable. You get to eat lots of different forms of chocolate from it's early stages to it's final stage. The warm chocolate shots with spices and fruits to add to your liking was delicious!

We weren't sure what to expect with this tour, but we were thoroughly impressed with the experience. Not only was the tour highly informative, but Kevin made the presentation especially entertaining, engaging with the group and answering all kinds of questions.

Getting to make our own chocolate was a lot of fun.

This tour was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting La Fortuna.

The tour was informative, entertaining and yummy. We made chocolate the way the natives did centuries ago and then tasted it experimenting with about a dozen of different flavors. Learned a lot about history and production of chocolate. I would definitely recommend it.

This one was awesome! Great history about how chocolate is made and how it is processed. Really liked the hands on part of the tour and Gustavo was really informative and funny! The tastings were really cool too...lots of different flavors. The chocolate they have to buy at the end is very good!

We choose to do this tour on our Sunday in Costa Rica, as a kind of rest day, and I'm so glad we did! Our group was small 6 people and the content fascinating. I'm a very hands-on person and this tour allowed us to sample cacao in its various states, from raw bean to an awesome chocolate tasting party at the end.

This trip was amazing! The cacao grove was in the rainforest above La Fortuna. Our guide for the 10am tour was great, very knowledgeable and helpful with questions. The best part...we made and ate the most delicious chocolate in all stages, from beans to finished product. We loved it!

Very good tour. We learned a lot about the growing and harvesting of cocao. Our tour directors were very good. Loved the samples. A very nice show room to purchase chocolate at a fair price. Recommend.

This was a great learning experience on chocolate and the tasting at the end was fantastic. The four stars were a result of conflicts with scheduling and times were not as stated.

We loved this tour. It was very informative, and the tour guides were funny and entertaining, as well as informative. You learn about the whole history of chocolate, with practical guides on what to look for, etc. The only downside was that I was hoping to get a walk through the plantation, but no such luck. The classes are taken to a small outdoor classroom, near the entrance, and talked through the chocolate process. At the end, the groups are given a variety of chocolates to try and with different ingredients. It was true, you can eat as much as you like, yummy! Overall, very informative and entertaining!

Great tastings, but the tour/lesson was mediocre. The tour guide was nice but couldn't answer all the questions and there was lesson structure than I prefer.

Its a great tour ! value vs money and very educational. I am indeed a chocolate lover and I fully support what they do . My constructive feedback for them would be the following: if you advertise yourself in travelocity and have a Spanish option available you should deliver as expected. My son and myself are fully bilingual but we chose Spanish for the benefit of my husband. We arrived on time, nobody greeted us , rather we went to the small store to present our voucher, the tour guide started the tour and focused all his attention to the English speaking group, he started the tour without even asking about the language, we claimed we bought a Spanish tour by the time they responded the guide had already started ... really made us feel left out. A lady then wanted to help and arrange for spanish tour but as the say says ... the cake was already in the oven.. we decided to stay with the group and i translated to my husband. What really bothered is that the tour guide knew Spanish perfectly in this circumstance he would had made the difference only buy making a bilingual tour...
Love chocolate! The tour is good! Needs improvement in client relationship!

Instructions for pick up location were very unclear. Ended up waiting in what we thought was the correct location, but nobody ever showed. So, either directions were unclear or tour stiffed. I'm sure it would have been lovely otherwise, but I can only speculate.
