10 Days Southern Comfort Tour
This tour takes you to three most famous parks and reserves of the southern circuit in Tanzania. Each of these boasts of unique aspects that put them on the top of every traveler’s bucket list. Mikumi national Park, your first stop after a night in Dar es Salaam, is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania and its sheer size leaves a lot to be explored. Its massive floodplains are home to a vast array of wildlife and bird species including the rare African Wild dog, making this park truly unique.
Ruaha and Selous Game Reserves are possibly the best known wildlife refuges in the southern circuit. Being the largest national park and game reserve in Africa respectively, each hold a potential for excellent game viewing that will be hard to beat elsewhere. Night game drives, walking safaris and boat excursions add up to the fun in this adventure packed trip as you explore the last bit of Africa as it was a century ago – wild, untouched and completely uninhabited.

Arrive at the JK Nyerere International Airport, meet one of our professional driver who will introduce himself and warmly welcome you, and transfer you to your designated hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Day 2: Mikumi National ParkStop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Pick-up from Dar es Salaam Hotel, and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours from Dar es Salaam, reach by evening time where you will proceed with game drive until sunset you will go back to the camp/hotel for dinner and overnight at Mikumi.

Day 3: Full day game drive Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Full day of game drive around Mikumi National Park. The park is very rich in varieties of bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants and close to the water holes also lions, leopards and hippos. Moreover, you can see other interesting animals like zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park – Ruaha National ParkStop At: Ruaha National Park, Ruaha National Park, Iringa Region
Morning game drive in Mikumi. Good prospects for sighting lion. Mikumi is a popular park easily accessible from Dar es Salaam. Later head on towards Iringa and Ruaha National Park Follow the highway to Iringa, passing the Ruaha River gorge and the Udzungwa Mountains across the river. The road is spectacular and wild, passing through Baobab Valley before heading into the southern highlands. The drive to Ruaha is a full day excursion and it is only in the late afternoon that we arrive in Ruaha National Park, after following the never ending road leading to Ruaha from Ruaha – a red earth road, cushioned on both sides by never ending bush. Once in Ruaha, head to lodge, for the evening, relaxing after the long drive.

Day 5: Game Drive and Walking Safaris in Ruaha National ParkStop At: Ruaha National Park, Ruaha National Park, Iringa Region
Full days exploring Tanzania’s second largest park. Optional game walks along the Ruaha River are well worthwhile. Alternatively, make your way in your vehicle through the network of roads in search of game. Ruaha boasts some of the largest herds of elephant and buffalo in Tanzania, and also offers excellent possibilities for encountering lion, leopard and cheetah. Furthermore, Sable and Roan antelope are found here as well as both species of kudu. Spend the whole day out with a picnic lunch. Late afternoon return to Ruaha Hilltop lodge.

Day 6: Ruaha National Park-Selous Game ReserveStop At: Selous Game Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Lindi Region
Morning game drive at Ruaha National Park and followed by charter flight to Selous Game Reserve.

Day 7: Full day in Selous Game ReserveStop At: Selous Game Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Lindi Region
Breakfast in your accommodation followed by both morning and afternoon game drives in the reserve. Selous is a home to large population of elephant, big number of buffalo and wild dog. Other species commonly seen are lion, bushbuck, impala, giraffe, eland, baboon, zebra, Kudus and Crocodile. You will have all meals and overnight at the camp.

Day 8: Walking and Boat Exercusion in SelousStop At: Selous Game Reserve, Selous Game Reserve, Lindi Region
After breakfast launch a walking trip in the wilderness accompanied by an armed ranger guide to get close to the animals. You will have picnic lunch in the bush and there after lunch transfer to Rufiji for afternoon boat excursion on the Rufiji River sporting large floating bodies fog Hippos and Crocodiles. Evening as the Sun goes down the drive will take you back to your accommodation for dinner experience and overnight FB.

Wake up at 0600hrs for early morning game viewing and Sun rise in Selous game Reserve, at 0845hrs drive back to your accommodation for breakfast. After breakfast, rest and relax at leisure in your accommodation waiting for lunch. Evening at 1600hrs proceed with game drives and enjoy the Sun set as it goes down, You will have all meals and overnight in your camp.

Day 10: Selous Game Reserve to Dar es Salaam Stop At: Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Dar Es Salaam Region
After breakfast, our accredited driver will drop you at the airstrip to catch a flight back to Dar es Salaam. The flight will depart Selous airstrip at 9:45 am Arrive in Dar es Salaam at 10:20 am. And as
you arrive at Dar es Salaam there will be a Pickup by our driver and transport to a hotel at city center or any airport lodge (according to your preference) for day room check-in, lunch, and dinner. You will have a room available through the evening so you have time to shower and pack for your international flight.
