Spitzkoppe Day Tour from Swakopmund

Viewing and climbing Namibia's own Matterhorn. Namibia has wide open spaces, clear skies, thousands of seals, beautiful Rock formation, age old Bushman paintings and unique desert Plants. A must see in Namibia! We see the ship wreck Zeila and then we go to Cape Cross seal colony in the Skeleton Park.

Pass By: Wlotzkasbaken, Namibia

We pass Wlotskasbaken on our way out of Swakopmund and discuss this unique settlement
We also pass the new Desalinization Plant close by delivering water to teh Uranium mines and Swakopmund

Stop At: Henties Bay, Henties Bay, Erongo Region

Wepass through Henties bay and refuel for our long journey. This is a local holiday town

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Cape Cross Seal Reserve Namibia

We view the 70 000 strong Seal Colony, and discuss the rich history of Cape Cross. There are some small Salt mines in the area and unique orange lichen fields

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Spitzkoppe, Namibia

We back track to Henties bay and turn off into the Namib Desert heading for the Spitzkoppe. We pass some local stalls selling rock crystals and view the fascinating Bushman paintings and rock engravings. We climb up the Rock Arch and view the beautiful surrounding Dolomite rock formations. Spitzkoppe is Namibia's Matterhorn, an Inselberg and beautiful granite rock formation with a height of 1638m. After a small lunch we head back to Swakopmund

After a long day and many kilometers of traveling we reach Swakopmund and your accommodation. A sundowner is welcomed after a long and full day
