3-Days of Trekking from Xela to Lake Atitlan

This hike is one of the most popular treks in the beautiful Guatemalan Highlands where you will witness volcanoes, mountains and of course, the beautiful Lake Atitlan.

Itinerary

Day 1: Day 1 - Quetzaltenango to Xecam, Cantel

Stop At: Centro de Salud, Xecam, Cantel, Xecam, RH68+RFR, Cantel, Guatemala
We will hike in the direction of Xecam, the first two hours we will climb 3,050 m. The hardest part of the hike is known as Altiplano Alaska, then we will descent and stay the night with a local family. We will travel a total of 18 kilometres on the first day.

Day 2: Day 2 - Santa Clara la Laguna

Stop At: Santa Clara La Laguna, Santa Clara La Laguna, Solola Department, Western Highlands
We will start the walk at 6:00am, spend the day with a family. We will walk a total of 14 miles.
Duration: 12 hours

Day 3: Day 3 - Sunrise at Countenance Maya

Stop At: Santa Clara La Laguna, Santa Clara La Laguna, Solola Department, Western Highlands
The final day of the trek will begin at 4:00am to witness the sunrise with magnificent panoramic views of the lake and its three towering volcanoes San Pedro, Toliman and Atitlan. The last day, we will walk a total of 11 kilometres.
