Cassis pebbly beaches, calanques, limestone cliffs and driving the spectacular scenic Route des Crêtes along the clifftops to Cap Canaille. Cassis discovery - the magic begins to works its wonders when we leave Marseille climbing up over the steep hillsides & tiny roads taking us to the picturesque fishing village of Cassis. The road bends its way between vineyards & pine woods. The charm of Cassis shows itself as you explore little alleyways & squares edged with colourful fishermen's houses. Cassis marks everyone's mind as they discover the harbour for the first time, the boats & welcoming café terraces. The drive between Marseille and Cassis is a spectacular one. Following the clifftop road - Route des Crêtes to Cap Canaille, towering cliffs reach a height of 394 meters. This winding road connects La Ciotat to Cassis, offering spectacular views and an exceptional panorama over La Ciotat's bay & Ile Verte beyond. In between the old port, we stop for a short visit to a local wine maker

Walking tour and visit to the old port area, explore the tiny streets, historic buildings, the beach, bars, restaurants and cafés, plus you have time to take a short boat ride to explore the Calanques (not included in the price)

There are a choice of boats trips to visit the Calanques, available fro the port of Cassis - it's around 45 minutes and you can buy a ticket from the ticket office on the old port. Please not boat trips are subject to favourable weather conditions.

This is a spectacular drive along the cliff top road that looks out over the sea and beyond. Cap Canaille is the highest natural cliff in Europe and towers over the bay of Cassis. We drive through taking in as much of the scenery as we can, with frequent stops to enjoy the views and take photographs. (Access is subject to weather conditions as the road is closed when there are high winds - we propose an alternative route when this happens.)

After visiting the fishing port and village - a visit to a Cassis wine maker to experience this unique, exceptional wine region. La Donna Tigana (or a nearby winery) The domain covers 14 hectares of vineyards on westerly facing hills in pebbly clay-limestone soil which is typical of Cassis and ideal for producing white wines which have greatly contributed to the reputation of the Cassis Appellation. Visit and wine tasting included.
