Deep in the Rila Mountain, in the southwestern part of Bulgaria is situated the biggest symbol of Christianity in Bulgaria- Rila Monastery. The Monastery was founded by the hermit St. Ivan Rilski in the beginning of X century. The monastery is the most visited cultural site in Bulgaria. Part of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After our immersion in ancient times, we will go to a winery named "Medy valley" to taste the fruits of this holy mountain. There we can find some lokal grape variety like "Rubin" and "Shiroka Melnishka".

Last but not least, we will visit the very special Boyana church- аnоtther UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Boyana Church for short, is famous for its remarkable medieval frescoes, among which the remarkable images from 1259. That means 50years before Giotto

Is the biggest monastery complex from 10th center in the Balkan Peninsula. Phenomenal Architectural model in Revival style.

Stop At: Boyana Church, 3 Boyansko Ezero Str., Sofia 1616 Bulgaria

An inspiring temple, with unique frescoes from the 13th century.
The murals from the first part of the church are dated from 1259 pre-renaissance period!

Stop At: Rila National Park, Rila Bulgaria

s the largest national park in Bulgaria spanning an area of 810.46 km2.
It was established on 24 February 1992 to protect several ecosystems of national importance. Its altitude varies from 800m. to 2,925 m (9,596 ft) at Musala Peak, the highest summit in the Balkan Peninsula. There are 120 glacial lakes, including the prominent Seven Rila Lakes. Many rivers have their source in the national park.
