Hiking in the magnificent scenery of the Atlantic Forest, you will visit natural pools, viewpoints, and paradisiacal beaches guided by a local guide, enjoy the local food and stay on residents lodges

We will hike on average 10-16k / day at a comfortable pace that suits you with breaks for you to enjoy your journey on the wildest and most preserved side of the island

Itinerary

Day 1: Abraao - Parnaioca

Stop At: Vila do Abraao, Vila do Abraao, Ilha Grande, Angra Dos Reis, State of Rio de Janeiro
The main village on the island, this charming village has many historical points of interest, it also has great bars and restaurants, some with live Brazilian music for you to enjoy.

Here begins our walk of approximately 16 km to our destination, along the way we will have many cool things to see and visit.

Stop At: Igreja de Sao Sebastiao, R. Alice Kury SN Vila do Abraão, Angra dos Reis, Angra Dos Reis, Ilha Grande, State of Rio de Janeiro 23968-000 Brazil
Church of colonial times, donated by the imperial government when it decided to build a quarantine center here for ships coming from Europe during the epidemics the typhus and cholera epidemics
Here will be our meeting point in the main square of the village.

Stop At: Mirante Ig, Abraão, Angra dos Reis - State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
After approximately 45 minutes of hiking, we arrive at the viewpoint of Curva da Morte, where you have a beautiful view of Vila do Abraao, perfect place for us to have a little break and take a nice picture
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Dois Rios Beach, Vila de Dois Rios, Angra Dos Reis, Ilha Grande, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil
The village of Dois Rios mixes nature, history, and culture.
In addition to the wonderful beach, it is possible to visit the Carcere Museum and the Ecomuseum and learn a little about the local history.

Stop At: Museu do Carceragem, Vila Dois Rios, Angra Dos Reis, State of Rio de Janeiro 23968-000 Brazil
Visit the ruins of the old prison and learn a little about this infamous prison
Duration: 25 minutes

Stop At: Parnaioca Beach, Angra Dos Reis, Ilha Grande, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil
Parnaioca is a special chapter on this book.

Here is one of the most preserved places on the island.
Everything is well behind in time, there are no power lines and a generator only runs for few hours, the water from the showers are heated using firewood.

Day 2: Parnaioca - Aventureiro

Aventureiro beach is one of those unique places, where it seems that time runs more slowly and we can connect with ourselves and nature.
Duration: 9 hours

Day 3: Aventureiro - Aracatiba

Stop At: Proveta Beach, Angra Dos Reis, Ilha Grande, State of Rio de Janeiro Brazil
After breakfast, we will leave the Aventureiro towards Proveta it is about 2hrs hiking to get to the village of Proveta the second largest on the island, still little explored for tourism, has one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the hike.
Here we have a little break to rest and for those who want to buy something to drink or eat.
Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Aracatiba, Aracatiba, Ilha Grande, Angra Dos Reis, State of Rio de Janeiro
Here we finish our tour. Aracatiba is the third largest village on the island, with nice and clear seawater, it is famous for marine farms, oysters, scallops, and fresh mussels.
