Stop At: Paris, Paris, Ile-de-France

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or cruise ship, and take you to the train station. As you explore the Normandy countryside and enjoy the comfort of first-class you will learn about the region's unique heritage, cuisine, traditions and slowly enter the world of D-Day. Arrived in Caen, your chauffeur will meet you and your guide and take you to your first discovery.

Stop At: Utah Beach, 50480 Sainte-Marie-du-Mont France

Our first discovery will take us back in time to one of WW2's most important D-Day sites: Utah Beach. As you explore the sandy shores, you will learn how German and American soldiers came face to face and see the battle scars that still pepper the landscape. After a guided tour of the area, you will visit the excellent Utah Beach Landing Museum, constructed around the remains of a German bunker. Here you will discover original warcraft, the Water Buffalo and Duck amphibious vehicles, and one of the last remaining B-26 bombers.

Stop At: Sainte Mere Eglise, Rua General Koenig, Sainte-Mere-Eglise France

Next we will head to the commune of Sainte-Mère-Église, where hundreds of allied troupes lost their lives on D-Day. Hear the incredible accounts, as told by the people who witnessed the battle and ensuing fire, and discover the extraordinary story of John Steele. Experience the D-Day atmosphere first hand at the Airborne Museum Discovery, as you explore interactive exhibits and items.

Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France

After Sainte-Mère-Église, we will visit the extraordinary Pointe-Du-Hoc, a monument which juts some 100m high over the ocean. Walk in the footsteps of the American soldiers who risked their lives to scale the 100-foot cliffs to seize German artillery pieces.

Stop At: Omaha Beach, Avenue de la Liberation, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France

Our fifth discovery will take us to the most famous D-Day sites in history: Omaha Beach. Here, we will be transported back in time, as we explore the cragged cliffs and shores where thousands fought. The Omaha Beach D-Day Museum, built on the spot where the landings took place, will take you through the night's events step by step, revealing the courage and hidden stories behind WW2's most infamous battle.

Stop At: Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer France

We will finish the tour with a visit to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, the resting place of thousands of soldiers who were lost in the D-Day battle. Your guide will lead you through the cemetery, revealing some of the stories behind the names. Here you will be given some free time to pay your respects and reflect on your journey into one of the legendary days in history.

Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Paris, Paris, Ile-de-France

Your chauffeur will drive you and your guide back to your train in Caen at the end of the tour. Then on, you will rail back in first-class to your hotel or residence in Paris as you relax from an eventful day and take in this historical experience.
