Family Coppo Riserva Wine tasting in Piedmont

Family Coppo Riserva Wine tasting in Piedmont

Since its foundation in 1892 in Canelli, Piedmont, Coppo winery has remained in the family for over one hundred and twenty years, making it one of the oldest family-run wineries in all of Italy.

The historical Coppo underground cellars, a UNESCO World Heritage, were built in the late 18th century and extend under Canelli hill for a total of five thousand square meters (53,800 sq. ft.) and, up to, a depth of forty meters (130 ft.).
Coppo’s wines are characterized by elegance, finesse, and longevity. Their production focuses on Barbera, Metodo Classico sparkling wines, Chardonnay,
and Moscato d’Asti.

This will be a private and exclusive experience that will let you get in touch with the Coppo family Riserva wines!

Itinerary

With this private tour and tasting you'll discover five of the finest wines produced by Coppo. A visit to Coppo’s historical cellars, acknowledged as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a chance to learn about the key stages that have helped in shaping the centennial mission of the Family. The final tasting is a tribute to the excellences of Coppo. It all begins with the spumante. The brut Metodo Classico Riserva del Fondatore, named after the winery’s founder, Piero Coppo, is produced in very limited quantities, using vintages with extraordinary value and capable of exceptional longevity.

Monteriolo and Pomorosso, award-winning labels by Coppo, will be tasted: since the 1980s these have drawn international recognition to the winery Coppo and its efforts in promoting Barbera and Chardonnay. But rare labels, like those belonging to the Riserve della Famiglia, single-vineyard wines produced in extremely limited quantities since 1998, are also available for tasting.

The tour ends with a tasting of 5 iconic Coppo wines:
• Piero Coppo Riserva del Fondatore Spumante Brut
• Monteriolo Chardonnay
• Riserva della Famiglia Chardonnay
• Pomorosso Barbera
• Riserva della Famiglia Barbera
