Meander Wilderness Experiences

Meander Wilderness Experiences

The only river sledding adventure in Tasmania!

River sledding is a unique and thrilling experience which puts you centimetres from the water as you make your way downstream. Your sledding adventure will have you drifting down the river belly first, a mix between a gentle float with the natural current as you take in the surrounding lush scenery. There’s no experience necessary!

Itinerary

Our tours are a whitewater experience, where you’ll enjoy the thrill of grade one & two rapids all while taking in the tranquillity of the Meander River and its surrounds.

You’ll be taken through a full briefing before hitting the water for a skills session before you float your way toward the first round of rapids. From here, you’ll spend 1.5 to two hours on the water and travel three kilometres downstream while our guides share local stories from days gone by and give you the option to try out tricks with your newfound river sledding skills!

Our tours kick-off at the Meander Memorial Hall where we’ll meet you and you’ll be introduced to our awesome guides. From here, you’ll be transported to the riverbank where our river sledding adventure begins!

We’ll look after you from the moment you arrive, right through to when we conclude the tour and you’re dropped back to the Hall.
