2-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

The 2-day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is ideal for people with little time, or for those people who did not reserve the full "Classic" Inca Trail on time. The 2-day Inca Trail is a challenge that makes it the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation.

The walk lasts approximately 6 to 7 hours until you reach the Puerta del Sol known as Inti Punku, where you can get the first panoramic views of Machu Picchu.

Itinerary

Day 1: CUSCO - WIÑAYHUAYNA - AGUAS CALIENTES

Pass By: Aguas Calientes, Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco Region
We pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to travel for 2 hours to the Ollantaytambo train station. There, we board a train and continued until kilometer 104, where there is the control point of the Inca Trail. We cross the Vilcanota River by a bridge and start the Inca Trail!
The first archeological site to visit is Chachabamba. Then we continue through a mixture of cactus vegetation and a cloud forest to another significant Inca site: Wiñayhuayna. But before arriving, we enjoy the freshness of a local waterfall. Where you have lunch and rest.
Later, we can admire the sunset over Machu Picchu when we arrive at the ‘Inti Punku’ (Sun Gate) before entering to Machu Picchu. However, today is too late to have a guided tour of this overwhelming Inca city, so we slowly descend to the town of Aguas Calientes enjoying the beautiful surrounding landscape along the way. We spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Aguas Calientes.

Quinoa chaufa; Small fruit juice; Apple; Granadilla; Lemon candy; Raisins with peanuts.

Day 2: MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO

Stop At: Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu Peru
We wake up early in the morning to have breakfast and continue walking along the Inca Trail for approximately 2 hours to the mysterious city of Machu Picchu, where we get the best photos of sunrise in the morning. Then, our tour guide shows us the Inca city and explains its history and its purposes. After the guided tour, we have free time to explore Machu Picchu on your own.
The 2-day Inca Trail ends with a train trip to Ollantaytambo, from where the transfer take you on a van back to Cusco.
After the visit you have time to lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where the driver will be waiting for you to take you to Cusco. We arrive to Cusco at 18:00 hours
