La Macarena Nature Communitary Experience (Caño Cristales)
Normally La Macarena is famous due to the rivers of the 5 colours that is unique in the world but beyond that, the uniqueness of its geography offers us much more places to visit. Only allowed to be visited between June to November, the rest of the year the community is trying to survive.
La Macarena is a small town lost in the jungle that is not easy accessible, and that suffered very much because of the violence and illegal economies, today is a community dedicated to take care of the jungle.This time after a long process of preparation they bring to us a new alternative, beyond Caño Cristales that everybody knows, communitarian off the Beaten Path Jungle Experience, created and hosted by themselves, looking to develop new amazing experiences, with homestay in the jungle and from their hands learn how these communities are moving today out of the illegal economies like Coca plantations to Ecotourism, in the unique Macarena Sierra.This is our way to help them and enjoy an adventure.
ItineraryDay 1: Travel to La Macarena. by airplane meet the local guide, lunch and transfer to the Silence Lagoon.Stop At: La Macarena, La Macarena, Meta Department
As soon as we arrive to La Macarena and we have taken the lunch at a restaurant at the town we will leave to visit Cachivera community and the Silent lagoon,1 hour transfer. and then we would walk by the savanna around 1 hour to arrive to the community, they will show us the amazing fauna and landscape surrounding the jungle nearby the Silent Lagoon and how they have been now dedicating all their efforts to protect the jungle and change from cattle to Ecotourism. After settling down in the community homestay we will go with a canoe to tour around the lagoon for a couple of hours at the sunset to have the chance to experience it in complete silence its fauna and the sounds of the jungle around this incredible lagoon. Then we will return to rest until the next day.

Day 2: Dawn at the lagoon and later Horsebackriding to Guayabero the riverside.Transfer to El Raudal, Pink dolphin´s whatching.Stop At: La Macarena, La Macarena, Meta Department
Early in the morning we will go to visit the amazing Caño Canoas place, this is a small river that creates a multiple waterfall in the same place, we will stay there between 4 to 6 hours depending on how comfortable are you feeling in the place. The idea is to go 2 hours by motorcycle with the locals from the Silent Lagoon, to enjoy the jungle and at our arrival take a bath at the river and enjoy this amazing marvel of the nature, in here we will do small hikes to go to the different waterfalls that exist in the same spot. We will take the lunch while been there, and in the afternoon we will return back to the Silent lagoon area to pass the night in the same spot of the first day.

Day 3: Ciudad de Piedra hike, and return to la Macarena for departure.Stop At: La Macarena, La Macarena, Meta Department
Early in the morning we will go to do the Ciudad de Piedra Hike, which would take around 3 hours, and afterwards we will return to la Macarena to prepare the departure to return to Bogotá.
