From Marrakech through Draa Valley Kasbah's to Erg Chigaga :2 Days

From your accommodation in Marrakech.your driver will pick you up at 7.30 am depart to Experience an authentic journey to the Sahara desert of Erg Chigaga. The first interesting stop will be the gorgeous High Atlas Mountains with the amazing landscape and Berber villages. Afterwards we drive to the Berber village of Taznakht. It is where you will have the chance to visit an association of women, where the hand woven Berber carpets are fabricated. Learn about the different techniques of working (weaving-knotting-embroidering). After lunch break, the adventure continues by reaching Foum Zguid where you will leave the paved road and join the exotic off road via the dry lake of Iriqui.

Arrival to the getaway of a calm and charming Sahara desert where you enjoy the splendor of the sunset or sunrise during a guided 2 hour camel ride. Overnight including half board at the Nomad Standard Camp, Erg Chigaga.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Erg Chigaga

Stop At: Jemaa el-Fnaa, 38 Jemaa el-Fna, Rue El Ksour, Marrakech Morocco
Start your journey at 8:00 from by 4×4, we are headed south crossing the High Atlas at Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 meters). Shortly before we reach Ouarzazate, we will stop to visit the Kasbah Ait-Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987.

Stop At: Tizi n Tichka, Imlil Village, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco

Pass By: Erg Chigaga, M'Hamid El Ghizlane, M'Hamid Morocco
4x4 driver who will drive you closer to Erg Chigaga, the biggest sand dunes in Morocco. Enjoy lunch at an oasis, in the shade of palm and tamarisk trees. In the afternoon we will continue along sandy roads, and reach Erg Chigaga

Day 2: Erg Chigaga – M’hamid – Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Stop At: Nationalpark D’Iriqui, Tata Morocco
After enjoying a picturesque sunrise upon the sand dunes and a refreshing breakfast at the camp, we take a short off road ride to the village of Mhamid, once used as one stop destination for the trading caravans.

The tour continues to the gorgeous village of Tamegrout where you will visit an ancient library with manuscripts of mathematics, theology, astrology, etc.
You will also have the possibility to visit a local pottery factory and an underground Kasbah.
We drive along the Draa valley admiring the palm groves and the old tribal Ksours via Zagora and Agdz to reach the “Hollywood of Africa” named Ouarzazate.
After lunch, we drive back to Marrakech past the stunning Atlas Mountains scenery.

Stop At: Taourirt Kasbah, Avenue Mohammed V, Ouarzazate 45000 Morocco
Discovering the hidden treasures of the Southern region. The journey continues on to Ouarzazate where you’ll visit the Kasbah Taourirt and lunch will be served. In the afternoon, we drive back to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and reach the red city in the evening.
