Itinerary

Day 1: DAY 01: ARRIVE AT PARO, PARO – THIMPHU (55KM/1 HOUR)

Stop At: Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge, Paro-Thimphu Highway, Paro 12001 Bhutan
Perched on the hill top Over Pachu river, Tachogang Lhakhang is indeed a feast to one's Eye.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Thimphu Chorten (Memorial Chorten), Thimphu Bhutan
The Memorial Stupa, Thimphu, also known as Memorial Chorten, is a stupa centrally located in the heart of Thimphu valley. The stupa was built in 1974 to honor the third king Jigme Dorji Wangchuk and is a prominent landmark in the city with its golden spires and bells.
You will come across lot of Bhutanese locals here , prostrating and circumambulating around the chorten

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Tashichho Dzong (Thimpu Dzong), Chhagchhen Lam, Thimphu Bhutan
• Evening visit Tashichho Dzong the impressive fortress which houses the secretariat building, the throne room of His Majesty the King and various government offices. It is also the summer residence of the Chief Abbot and central monk body. Witness the Flag lowering ceremony before you enter the Dzong

Day 2: DAY 02: THIMPHU-PUNAKHA (71 KM/3 HOURS)

Stop At: Buddha Dordenma, Kuensel Phodrang Viewing Point, Thimphu 11001 Bhutan
Drive to Kuenselphodrang where world’s tallest Buddha Statue (169 feet) sits overlooking the Thimphu Valley. Enjoy the spectacular view of Thimphu city
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Dochula Pass, Thimphu Bhutan
Set at an altitude of 3116 meters above the sea level, Dochula pass is one of the most scenic mountain passes that provide a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayas. The pass and its surroundings possess enviable floral wealth besides 108 stupas that evoke a deep sense of spirituality about the place.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Chimi Lhakhang Temple, Punakha Bhutan
Chimi Lhakhang is also known as the temple of fertility and is associated with the 'Divine Madman' Drukpa Kunley , who is known for his eccentric teachings & is said to have subdued evil spirit on this spot.
The Lhakhang is beautifully set in the midst of paddy field of Sop Sokha Village
Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Punakha Dzong, Punakha 13001 Bhutan
Punakha Dzong was built on the stretch of land where Phochhu & Mochhu converged. It has an aura of medieval Bhutan and houses the country's most sacred relic 'Rangjung Kharsapani'.
Duration: 45 minutes

Day 3: PUNAKHA TO PARO (130KMS/4HOURS DRIVE)

Stop At: Paro Taktsang, Taktsang Trail, Paro Bhutan
After a hearty breakfast drive from Punakha to Paro.

Hike to Taktshang Monastery, one of the holiest and the most beautiful sites of Bhutan. Taktshang, the tiger’s lair, acquires its name from the legend of its foundation, when in the 8th Century Guru Rinpoche, widely revered as the second Buddha arrived from Tibet flying across the mountains on the back of a tigress.
Duration: 4 hours

Stop At: Kyichu Lhakhang, Lamgong Gewog, Paro 12001 Bhutan
It is one of the oldest temple in Bhutan , founded by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.
There are beautiful sights to behold here; the orange tree which bears fruit throughout the year; the foot print impression of third queen Ashi Kesang Wangchuk left due to million of prostration; the statue of giant Guru Rinpoche and goddess Kurukulle.
And the sight of local circumambulating this place , makes it woth a visit

Day 4: Departure

Stop At: Paro, Paro, Paro District
