PRIVATE TOUR -Zeus Cave-Old Villages-Olive Oil - From Heraklion

Join us in this adventure to explore the real side of Crete and learn all about local traditions and culture. We visit old traditional villages, Zeus Cave, old wind mills, Lasithii Plateau , an olive oil factory where we learn how olive oil is made with modern and old machines and we get to taste different kind of olive oil .
Up on the mountain we stop at a family restaurant to enjoy a Cretan traditional Lunch and propably taste some local wine.( OPTIONAL)

We can customize this tour on your wishes and needs by skipping or adding extra places to visit if possible.
This tour is perfect if you are in Crete only for one day on a cruise ship ( don’t pick up from Chania, Ierapetra)

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Omalia Olive Press, Agias Marinas, Malia, Crete 70007 Greece

Visit an olive oil factory to taste different kind of olive oil , learn about olive oil and see how olive oil is made .

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Platanus Tree, Main Square, Krasi, Crete 700 05 Greece

Visit Krasi Village where the oldest Plane tree in Crete is located .

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Dikteon Cave, Mount Dicte range in East Crete, Psichro, Crete 720 52 Greece

We visit the cave that according to the Greek mythology Zeus the King of all the Greek Gods was born ,
Please note that to get to the cave there is a 15 minute hike up hill and 150 steps to get inside the cave
Going to the cave is optional.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Mochos, Mochos, Crete

We walk through the old narrow streets of the village to take a taste of the way of life of the locals, explore the old churches and then enjoy a traditional Cretan lunch at a family restaurant.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Lasithi Plateau, Greece

We visit the old wind mills that used to pump water up to water the crops.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Aposelemis canyon, Analipsi, Hersonissos, Crete Greece

We stop to enjoy the amazing views from up the mountain , have something to drink and of course take some beautiful photos.

Duration: 10 minutes

Pass By: Kera Kardiotissa Monastery, Heraklion, Crete Greece

We pass by this beautiful Monastery on our way to Lasithii Plateau , if you would like to stop there for a visit it’s no problem.

Stop At: Dikteon Cave, Mount Dicte range in East Crete, Psichro, Crete 720 52 Greece

We explore the cave of Zeus hoping that we might find Zeus …… note that to get there is a 20 minute walking up hill and then around 100 steps to get inside.
Getting to the cave is OPTIONAL of course, we can skip it and add another attraction instead…..

We drive through Malia town and Malia beach,

Pass By: Hersonissos 700 14, Greece

Pas by without stopping but could be also a potential pick up location for your group.

Stop At: Windmills Of Lasithi Plateau, Οροπεδίο Λασιθίου, Tzermiado, Crete 841 00 Greece

We visit the old wind mills that were used in the past for grinding and enjoying the amazing views from up there .

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Heraklion, Heraklion, Crete

If you are on a cruise ship then we can pick you up and drop you off at the port .
After the tour we drive around Heraklion city so you can get a taste of our home town.
